It\u2019s actually precisely because his advice is extreme that Clavicular has become the most famous looksmaxxer in the world. Once a fringe community formed in openly misogynistic forums, Clavicular is one of the main streamers to turn looksmaxxing, an internet subculture with the singular focus of men maximising their physical attractiveness, mainstream. The 20-year-old has injected and ingested a number of things that he claims made him more handsome. So, what could go wrong? Well, quite a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Let\u2019s start by emphasising the fact that the looksmaxxing community isn\u2019t the place to go for any real advice (physical or otherwise). It\u2019s a place where only one type of beauty is praised: chiselled-jawed white men. In fact, a Black man <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/confessions-of-a-black-looksmaxxer\/\"><span>who attempted to make looksmaxxing content was racially harassed<\/span><\/a><span>, and Clavicular himself routinely uses the N-word. None of this actually makes you attractive to most reasonable people \u2013 except for other male <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69773\/1\/face-raters-men-judging-hotness-looksmaxxing-forums-incels-chatrooms-selfies\"><span>Face-Raters<\/span><\/a><span>, apparently. Still, as the looksmaxxing community continues to grow online, it\u2019s worth unpacking what would happen if you actually followed Clavicular\u2019s advice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/13\/style\/clavicular-looksmaxxing-braden-peters.html\"><span>6-foot-2 with a 31-inch waist and a midface ratio of 1.07 (whatever that means)<\/span><\/a><span>, Clavicular<\/span><span>has calculated that he\u2019s handsome. But it\u2019s not enough. He wants to further \u201cascend,\u201d which is looksmaxxer lingo for improving your attractiveness, to the level of the actor Matt Bomer, whose face he considers to be the most harmonious man\u2019s face in existence. That\u2019s why he wants a bimaxillary osteotomy, also known as double jaw surgery. But, like just about everything Clavicular does, that doesn\u2019t come without its risks. Dr Jason Nagata, a paediatrician specialising in adolescence health, says the jaw surgery can lead to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/procedures\/jaw-implants\"><span>allergic reactions, bruising or blood clots, infections, buildup of scar tissue, nerve damage and more<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-tiktok\" data-id=\"7574188698116410646\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>And Clavicular isn\u2019t just looking at one surgery. He also wants limb lengthening surgery in the future, and his daily \u201cbeauty\u201d routine apparently includes taking <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/-bVrrjp_Tn0\"><span>testosterone, dutasteride and minoxidil for his hair, Accutane for his skin, crystal meth to hollow his cheeks<\/span><\/a><span> (which is, of course, an addictive synthetic stimulant that causes considerable health adversities), along with the steroid <\/span><span>anavar and the experimental weight-loss medication retatrutide. Also included in the cocktail of substances is melanotan II for tanning and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FearedBuck\/status\/2020244724255465821\"><span>the peptide NAD+ for \u201ccell health\u201d<\/span><\/a><span>. Some of these can be prescribed by a dermatologist (like minoxidil and Accutane), but others are completely experimental. In one interview, he even admitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@bradleymartyn\/video\/7584966444983602463\">injecting substances into his penis<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Even aside from the crystal meth use, anabolic steroids (testosterone and Anavar) are not only illegal in the US when used outside of <\/span><span>medical supervision<\/span><span>, but <\/span><span>the long-term health consequences can be very serious, including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/anabolic-steroid-misuse\/\"><span>heart attacks, strokes, liver or kidney problems or failure<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cAnother concern for growing teenagers is that\u00a0steroids can actually affect their growth and development, as well as have mental health consequences like extreme irritability and aggression,\u201d says Dr Nagata. <\/span><span>Retatrutide, a weight loss treatment, is not currently FDA-approved and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers\/fdas-concerns-unapproved-glp-1-drugs-used-weight-loss\"><span>clinical trials<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0show potential harmful side effects include gastrointestinal distress, as well as rare instances of acute pancreatitis. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/68487\/1\/so-you-want-to-try-diy-peptide-injections-how-to\"><span>NAD+ peptide therapy is also currently not scientifically backed up<\/span><\/a><span>. And melanotan II <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/40210573\/\"><span>may be associated with malignant melanoma onset<\/span><\/a><span>, with the potential side effects including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/nasal-tanning-spray\"><span>painful, sustained erections, reduced blood flow to the kidneys and muscle disintegration<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr Nora Jaafar, a cosmetic dermatologist and previous NHS medical doctor, says the concern with <\/span><span>Clavicular\u2019s so-called beauty advice <\/span><span>isn\u2019t just one compound, although some of them are deeply concerning on their own, but the cumulative physiological stress of stacking multiple drugs. For example, testosterone therapy, Anavar and Accutane can all affect liver enzymes, cholesterol and cardiovascular risk. \u201cCombining them increases the need for medical supervision and blood monitoring,\u201d she says. \u201cThese stacks are often presented online as \u2018optimisation\u2019, but pharmacologically they are complex and should not be undertaken without proper clinical oversight.\u201d By stacking <\/span><span>hormones and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/68487\/1\/so-you-want-to-try-diy-peptide-injections-how-to\"><span>peptides<\/span><\/a><span>, you are essentially conducting one of the first human trials of mixing these substances on yourself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>\u201cThese stacks are often presented online as \u2018optimisation\u2019, but pharmacologically they are complex and should not be undertaken without proper clinical oversight\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Even something like Accutane, which can be helpful for those prescribed it for their acne, has side effects and requires lab monitoring, so it\u2019s best to start with over-the-counter products first, says Dr <\/span><span>Brendan Camp, a double board-certified dermatologist at MDCS Dermatology<\/span><span>. \u201cIf those products are not addressing your acne, consult with a board-certified dermatologist for evaluation and treatment,\u201d he says<\/span><span>. \u201cIn addition, testosterone and anabolic steroids like Anavar can trigger acne, which is counterproductive to taking isotretinoin [Accutane].\u201d So, not only can combining your own concoction of looksmaxxing substances be dangerous, but it may also be counter-productive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For those on the pursuit of looksmaxxing, Dr Camp recommends taking it back to basics instead: maintaining a simple skincare routine, a healthy diet, an exercise program and a sleep schedule. \u201cThe concept of being handsome at all costs is unrealistic and unhealthy,\u201d he says. \u201cTo clear through the conflicting advice online, seek the guidance of a board-certified dermatologist.\u201d It all sounds so simple \u2013 but looksmaxxing is clearly appealing to young men for a reason. As Dr Jaafar puts it: \u201cIt\u2019s creating the same appearance pressure that women have experienced for decades, but directed at men through the lens of performance and competition.\u201d This pressure is being accelerated by algorithms that reward extreme transformations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-tiktok\" data-id=\"7578267357538192662\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Following Clavicular\u2019s lead towards a ludicrous beauty standard is without a doubt dangerous for your health. Even <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/13\/style\/clavicular-looksmaxxing-braden-peters.html\"><span>Clavicular himself believes he\u2019s currently infertile because of testosterone replacement therapy<\/span><\/a><span>. Worst-case scenario, it could even potentially be deadly. But, as <\/span><span>Dr Jaafar points out, taking a health risk for the sake of aesthetics isn\u2019t exactly new: for centuries, women have died attempting to keep up with beauty standards, whether through arsenic-laced makeup in the Victorian era or undergoing risky procedures like BBLs today. Through looksmaxxing, young men are now under scrutiny like never before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To make it even more confusing, <\/span><span>Clavicular <\/span><em><span>sometimes<\/span><\/em><span> (but not often) actually posts some dermatologically-backed advice, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DGedt7DPU1m\/\"><span>like using sunscreen every day.<\/span><\/a><span> (<\/span><span>He\u2019s also been known to use<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@jestermaxxedmogger\/video\/7586224002646019359\"> an eyelash curler and eyeliner<\/a>, which could be encouraging to men who want to experiment with makeup.) \u201cWhen a creator mixes a few legitimate medical concepts (like sunscreen or acne treatment) with unproven or risky ideas, it can create a false sense of authority,\u201d says Dr <\/span><span>Jaafar. \u201c<\/span><span>That makes it difficult for audiences to distinguish evidence-based advice from speculation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr Nagata compares hormone and peptide stacking, as <\/span><span>Clavicular famously does, to playing a game of <\/span><span>Russian Roulette. \u201cWe just don\u2019t know the true side effects of mixing and matching these medications,\u201d he says. It\u2019s actually precisely because his advice is extreme that Clavicular has become the most famous looksmaxxer in the world. Once a fringe community formed in openly misogynistic forums, Clavicular is one of the main streamers to turn looksmaxxing, an internet subculture with the singular focus of men maximising their physical attractiveness, mainstream. The 20-year-old has injected and ingested a number of things that he claims made him more handsome. So, what could go wrong? Well, quite a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Let\u2019s start by emphasising the fact that the looksmaxxing community isn\u2019t the place to go for any real advice (physical or otherwise). It\u2019s a place where only one type of beauty is praised: chiselled-jawed white men. In fact, a Black man <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/confessions-of-a-black-looksmaxxer\/\"><span>who attempted to make looksmaxxing content was racially harassed<\/span><\/a><span>, and Clavicular himself routinely uses the N-word. None of this actually makes you attractive to most reasonable people \u2013 except for other male <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69773\/1\/face-raters-men-judging-hotness-looksmaxxing-forums-incels-chatrooms-selfies\"><span>Face-Raters<\/span><\/a><span>, apparently. Still, as the looksmaxxing community continues to grow online, it\u2019s worth unpacking what would happen if you actually followed Clavicular\u2019s advice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/13\/style\/clavicular-looksmaxxing-braden-peters.html\"><span>6-foot-2 with a 31-inch waist and a midface ratio of 1.07 (whatever that means)<\/span><\/a><span>, Clavicular<\/span><span>has calculated that he\u2019s handsome. But it\u2019s not enough. He wants to further \u201cascend,\u201d which is looksmaxxer lingo for improving your attractiveness, to the level of the actor Matt Bomer, whose face he considers to be the most harmonious man\u2019s face in existence. That\u2019s why he wants a bimaxillary osteotomy, also known as double jaw surgery. But, like just about everything Clavicular does, that doesn\u2019t come without its risks. Dr Jason Nagata, a paediatrician specialising in adolescence health, says the jaw surgery can lead to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/procedures\/jaw-implants\"><span>allergic reactions, bruising or blood clots, infections, buildup of scar tissue, nerve damage and more<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-tiktok\" data-id=\"7574188698116410646\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>And Clavicular isn\u2019t just looking at one surgery. He also wants limb lengthening surgery in the future, and his daily \u201cbeauty\u201d routine apparently includes taking <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/-bVrrjp_Tn0\"><span>testosterone, dutasteride and minoxidil for his hair, Accutane for his skin, crystal meth to hollow his cheeks<\/span><\/a><span> (which is, of course, an addictive synthetic stimulant that causes considerable health adversities), along with the steroid <\/span><span>anavar and the experimental weight-loss medication retatrutide. Also included in the cocktail of substances is melanotan II for tanning and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FearedBuck\/status\/2020244724255465821\"><span>the peptide NAD+ for \u201ccell health\u201d<\/span><\/a><span>. Some of these can be prescribed by a dermatologist (like minoxidil and Accutane), but others are completely experimental. In one interview, he even admitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@bradleymartyn\/video\/7584966444983602463\">injecting substances into his penis<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Even aside from the crystal meth use, anabolic steroids (testosterone and Anavar) are not only illegal in the US when used outside of <\/span><span>medical supervision<\/span><span>, but <\/span><span>the long-term health consequences can be very serious, including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/anabolic-steroid-misuse\/\"><span>heart attacks, strokes, liver or kidney problems or failure<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cAnother concern for growing teenagers is that\u00a0steroids can actually affect their growth and development, as well as have mental health consequences like extreme irritability and aggression,\u201d says Dr Nagata. <\/span><span>Retatrutide, a weight loss treatment, is not currently FDA-approved and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers\/fdas-concerns-unapproved-glp-1-drugs-used-weight-loss\"><span>clinical trials<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0show potential harmful side effects include gastrointestinal distress, as well as rare instances of acute pancreatitis. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/68487\/1\/so-you-want-to-try-diy-peptide-injections-how-to\"><span>NAD+ peptide therapy is also currently not scientifically backed up<\/span><\/a><span>. And melanotan II <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/40210573\/\"><span>may be associated with malignant melanoma onset<\/span><\/a><span>, with the potential side effects including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/nasal-tanning-spray\"><span>painful, sustained erections, reduced blood flow to the kidneys and muscle disintegration<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr Nora Jaafar, a cosmetic dermatologist and previous NHS medical doctor, says the concern with <\/span><span>Clavicular\u2019s so-called beauty advice <\/span><span>isn\u2019t just one compound, although some of them are deeply concerning on their own, but the cumulative physiological stress of stacking multiple drugs. For example, testosterone therapy, Anavar and Accutane can all affect liver enzymes, cholesterol and cardiovascular risk. \u201cCombining them increases the need for medical supervision and blood monitoring,\u201d she says. \u201cThese stacks are often presented online as \u2018optimisation\u2019, but pharmacologically they are complex and should not be undertaken without proper clinical oversight.\u201d By stacking <\/span><span>hormones and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/68487\/1\/so-you-want-to-try-diy-peptide-injections-how-to\"><span>peptides<\/span><\/a><span>, you are essentially conducting one of the first human trials of mixing these substances on yourself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>\u201cThese stacks are often presented online as \u2018optimisation\u2019, but pharmacologically they are complex and should not be undertaken without proper clinical oversight\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Even something like Accutane, which can be helpful for those prescribed it for their acne, has side effects and requires lab monitoring, so it\u2019s best to start with over-the-counter products first, says Dr <\/span><span>Brendan Camp, a double board-certified dermatologist at MDCS Dermatology<\/span><span>. \u201cIf those products are not addressing your acne, consult with a board-certified dermatologist for evaluation and treatment,\u201d he says<\/span><span>. \u201cIn addition, testosterone and anabolic steroids like Anavar can trigger acne, which is counterproductive to taking isotretinoin [Accutane].\u201d So, not only can combining your own concoction of looksmaxxing substances be dangerous, but it may also be counter-productive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For those on the pursuit of looksmaxxing, Dr Camp recommends taking it back to basics instead: maintaining a simple skincare routine, a healthy diet, an exercise program and a sleep schedule. \u201cThe concept of being handsome at all costs is unrealistic and unhealthy,\u201d he says. \u201cTo clear through the conflicting advice online, seek the guidance of a board-certified dermatologist.\u201d It all sounds so simple \u2013 but looksmaxxing is clearly appealing to young men for a reason. As Dr Jaafar puts it: \u201cIt\u2019s creating the same appearance pressure that women have experienced for decades, but directed at men through the lens of performance and competition.\u201d This pressure is being accelerated by algorithms that reward extreme transformations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-tiktok\" data-id=\"7578267357538192662\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Following Clavicular\u2019s lead towards a ludicrous beauty standard is without a doubt dangerous for your health. Even <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/13\/style\/clavicular-looksmaxxing-braden-peters.html\"><span>Clavicular himself believes he\u2019s currently infertile because of testosterone replacement therapy<\/span><\/a><span>. Worst-case scenario, it could even potentially be deadly. But, as <\/span><span>Dr Jaafar points out, taking a health risk for the sake of aesthetics isn\u2019t exactly new: for centuries, women have died attempting to keep up with beauty standards, whether through arsenic-laced makeup in the Victorian era or undergoing risky procedures like BBLs today. Through looksmaxxing, young men are now under scrutiny like never before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To make it even more confusing, <\/span><span>Clavicular <\/span><em><span>sometimes<\/span><\/em><span> (but not often) actually posts some dermatologically-backed advice, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DGedt7DPU1m\/\"><span>like using sunscreen every day.<\/span><\/a><span> (<\/span><span>He\u2019s also been known to use<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@jestermaxxedmogger\/video\/7586224002646019359\"> an eyelash curler and eyeliner<\/a>, which could be encouraging to men who want to experiment with makeup.) \u201cWhen a creator mixes a few legitimate medical concepts (like sunscreen or acne treatment) with unproven or risky ideas, it can create a false sense of authority,\u201d says Dr <\/span><span>Jaafar. \u201c<\/span><span>That makes it difficult for audiences to distinguish evidence-based advice from speculation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr Nagata compares hormone and peptide stacking, as <\/span><span>Clavicular famously does, to playing a game of <\/span><span>Russian Roulette. \u201cWe just don\u2019t know the true side effects of mixing and matching these medications,\u201d he says.
