Good news for those among you who despise a well-crafted performance tyre: Mercedes-AMG has today confirmed a new Black Series GT will arrive, bringing back one of the wildest badges in the car world.<\/p>\n

And to prove just how wild, it\u2019ll serve as a homologation car for a future Mercedes-AMG GT3 racing car.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It\u2019ll be no less than the \u201cmost extreme Black Series ever\u201d, according to AMG boss Michael Schiebe. If you know your Black Series cars, that\u2019s quite the claim. Top Gear still shakes at the thought of the old SLS Black.<\/p>\n

The next-gen Black Series was first teased last year by the Concept AMG GT Track Sport<\/a>\u2026 concept, and if it\u2019s supposed to be the most extreme AMG Black yet, it\u2019ll have to top the current GT 63 Pro and its measly 600bhp+.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How high that V8 goes, Top Gear does not yet know, but we do know the prototype has been tested around tracks like Bilster Berg, Portimao, and Monteblanco, and the next one on the hit list is the N\u00fcrburgring. AMG\u2019s got history with a Black Series at the N\u00fcrburgring. Expect fireworks this time around.<\/p>\n

How many fireworks, Top Gear also does not yet know, but we do know AMG\u2019s Motorsport colour will feature red as a central element, while yellow and green will represent the AMG GT Black Series.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
