Local outlet BluRadio said the crash occurred just 3 kilometers (2 miles) from an urban center, citing authorities.<\/p>\n

“The exact number of victims \u200band the causes of the crash have not yet been determined,” Sanchez said.<\/p>\n

Colombian General\u00a0Carlos Fernando Silva said in a video on X that the plane was carrying 114 passengers and 11 crew members at the time of the crash, adding that there were 48 survivors, describing the figures as preliminary.<\/p>\n

“I will grant no further delays; it is the lives of our young people \u200bthat are at stake,” he said. “If civilian or military administrative officials are not up to this challenge, they must be removed.”<\/p>\n

Since the late 1960s, Colombia has been acquiring Hercules C-130 planes, which were launched in the 1950s. Recently, Colombia replaced some older models with newer ones sent from the US.<\/p>\n
