With some retailing for $15,000 or more, it&#8217;s easy to think that all bikes are financially out of reach for most. The top groupsets and most sought after frames are undeniably more expensive than they were 15 years ago, and although inflation can be blamed for much of this increase, wages haven&#8217;t matched inflation, making bikes seem ludicrously expensive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">But there are still some great bikes available at good prices, and the new brands coming out of China like XDS could affect change across the industry. As she competed at the elite level, her journalism career followed, and soon, she became a full-time cycling journalist. With some retailing for $15,000 or more, it&#8217;s easy to think that all bikes are financially out of reach for most. With some retailing for $15,000 or more, it&#8217;s easy to think that all bikes are financially out of reach for most. The top groupsets and most sought after frames are undeniably more expensive than they were 15 years ago, and although inflation can be blamed for much of this increase, wages haven&#8217;t matched inflation, making bikes seem ludicrously expensive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">But there are still some great bikes available at good prices, and the new brands coming out of China like XDS could affect change across the industry.
