With three weeks to go until Ill Ni\u00f1o<\/strong> embark on their 25th anniversary tour for their debut record, Revolution Revoluci\u00f3n<\/em>, now-former guitarist Xander Raymond Charles<\/strong> received the boot from the band despite being formally added to the band’s line-up earlier this year.<\/p>\n

In a grid post to Instagram, Charles<\/strong> made the announcement himself \u2013 with no formal comment from Ill Ni\u00f1o<\/strong> available at the moment. The post reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the beginning of 2026, I was hired by the band\u00a0Ill Ni\u00f1o<\/strong>\u00a0to become a permanent replacement and the newest member. Last night, I received a call telling me they no longer need me as a replacement. This was a total shock, as I was committed for several months, and the first show is 3 weeks away. I was informed this decision was completely out of my control, and I had nothing to do with it.<\/p>\n

As of today, I am available for work. If anyone needs a guitar player, I\u2019m here. I keep my word, and I commit to what I agree to.<\/p>\n

Lastly, there is no bad blood, and I understand this is strictly a business decision. I wish\u00a0Ill Ni\u00f1o<\/strong>\u00a0nothing but the best.<\/p>\n

There has been quite a lot of discourse regarding Ill Ni\u00f1o<\/strong> over the last few years, with several line-up changes and public spats with previous members, so this doesn’t seem entirely out of the realm of possibility. However, it will be interesting to hear Ill Ni\u00f1o<\/strong>‘s side of the story, should they decide to comment.<\/p>\n

The aforementioned tour was announced back in November through a post uploaded to Instagram, with the band saying (translated<\/em>):<\/p>\n

“Today, we announce the first 7 stops of the Latin Nu-Metaleros\u00a0ILL NI\u00d1O<\/strong>\u00a0tour, celebrating the “25 Years of Revolution” tour. The band will play all our songs from the album ‘Revolution\u2026 Revoluci\u00f3n’ from beginning to end, and all our hits.<\/em><\/p>\n
