of Nvidia&#8217;s DLSS 5 visuals on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/starfield-main-story-walkthrough-9352\">Starfield<\/a>, following the controversial AI-tech&#8217;s reveal.<\/p>\n<p>For those unaware, DLSS 5 is newly-announced AI-powered tech which Nvidia calls a &#8220;breakthrough in visual fidelity for games&#8221;, and includes an optional upscaling filter which essentially &#8216;beautifies&#8217; (I am using that term very loosely here) characters&#8217; faces and lighting. In the case of Resident Evil Requiem&#8217;s Grace Ashcroft, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/nvidia-dlss-5-reveal-reactions-are-mostly-negative-and-funny\">DLSS 5 filter appears to enlarge her lips and give her more makeup<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the most recent Resident Evil, another game used to showcase the tech was Starfield, with Bethesda&#8217;s own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/personas\/todd-howard\">Todd Howard<\/a> calling the DLSS 5&#8217;s effect on the game &#8220;amazing&#8221;.
