In 2006, The Devil Wears Prada<\/a><\/em> introduced the world to Runway <\/em>magazine \u2014 the glamorous fashion shoots, the glamorous parties, the\u2026 less than glamorous work-life balance \u2014 and a new generation of fashion obsessive was born (including yours truly). Now, 20 years later, Andie Sachs, Miranda Priestley, and the rest of the sartorially-minded squad are returning to the silver screen in The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/em>. To mark the occasion, Disney\u2019s 20th Century Studios and L’Or\u00e9al Paris are teaming up for a collab, beginning with a glitzy spot set to air during the 98th Academy Awards.<\/p>\n

Starring L’Or\u00e9al Paris ambassadors Kendall Jenner<\/a> and Simone Ashley<\/a> (the latter of whom plays Miranda\u2019s new assistant in the film), the ad plays on the film\u2019s famous sequence in which Emily, played by Emily Blunt, leads Anne Hathaway\u2019s Andie through the chaotic Runway<\/em> offices \u2014 complete with the famous \u201cHR certainly has an odd sense of humor\u201d line. In the L’Or\u00e9al Paris version, Jenner is mistaken for \u201cthe new girl\u201d by a Runway<\/em> staffer, who offers her a Colour Riche<\/a> lipstick and Extensionist<\/a> mascara to make herself \u201cpresentable\u201d before Ashley\u2019s assistant intervenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpending the day at the Runway<\/em> office was honestly so much fun,\u201d Jenner said in a statement. \u201cI got to live my dream walking past that iconic reception, and what made it even more special was getting to experience it alongside my L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris<\/a> family. I can\u2019t wait for everyone to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond Oscar Sunday, the L’Or\u00e9al Paris x The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/em> collab will extend through the film\u2019s release with a series of activations highlighting the glamorous intersection between beauty and entertainment.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeaming up with The Devil Wears Prada 2 <\/em>lets us show up in a moment that defines beauty and pop culture, and at a scale that matches the legacy of the film,\u201d L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris brand president Laura Branik said in a statement. \u201cLaunching this collaboration on Oscars night, with a spot that pays homage to the story and brings together our spokeswomen Kendall Jenner<\/a> and Simone Ashley, is a meaningful way to reinforce what L\u2019Or\u00e9al Paris stands for: celebrating women who set the standard, on screen and in real life.\u201d<\/p>\n
