Both scheduled men\u2019s Super-G races in Courchevel<\/span><\/span>, France<\/span><\/span>, have been canceled after heavy snowfall made it impossible to stage a safe competition, according to International Ski and Snowboard Federation<\/span><\/span> (FIS). <\/strong>FIS announced the cancellation on social media, citing excessive snowfall on the course and safety concerns for athletes. Race organizers had initially hoped to run two Super-G races in Courchevel as part of the men\u2019s Alpine World Cup schedule, but persistent snowfall and difficult course conditions prevented officials from preparing the slope to the required standard. Courchevel saw 30 cm (12 inches) of snowfall in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

\u201dDespite all the efforts on the track, heavy snowfall overnight has made the slope unsafe to race. Today\u2019s Men\u2019s Super G in Courchevel has therefore been cancelled and will not be replaced.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the second race officially called off on Sunday, March 15, the 2025-26 season Super-G title was mathematically secured by Marco Odermatt<\/span><\/span> of Switzerland<\/span><\/span>, who claims the discipline\u2019s Crystal Globe. <\/strong>The Swiss star has dominated the discipline in recent years and continues to cement his place as the leading speed skier on the men\u2019s World Cup circuit.<\/p>\n

Odermatt\u2019s latest Crystal Globe adds to an already remarkable collection of titles for the reigning overall World Cup champion.<\/strong> His consistency across the Super-G season allowed him to secure the discipline lead even before the final scheduled races could take place.<\/p>\n
