Last night, the house closed the season with its Autumn\/Winter 2026 show inside Rome\u2019s Palazzo Barberini, where Creative Director Alessandro Michele delivered a collection titled Interference<\/em>, a title that reflected the tension between Michele\u2019s instinct for maximalist storytelling and the refined aesthetic architecture built by the late Valentino Garavani. Set against the frescoed ceilings of the 17th-century palazzo, Michele staged a dialogue between past and present, where the house\u2019s heritage melted with his own eccentric visual language.<\/p>\n

The collection riffed across centuries, blending echoes of Renaissance drapery with the excess of the 1980s: Rounded, exaggerated shoulders framed fluid gowns and tailored coats, while twisted taffeta, lace-trimmed denim and bow-tied furs played with the idea of that elegance being disrupted, opulent fabrics, shimmering embellishment and ecclesiastical folds reimagined through Michele\u2019s off-kilter romanticism. Shot at Paris\u2019 Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de la Villette, the film sees Richter perform the original score at the harpsichord while the young ensemble transforms the concert hall into something far more fun and playful: swings, slides and climbing frames.
