Wardrobe malfunctions and fashion<em> faux pas<\/em> are still a possibility in the uber-aero, super-stylish modern peloton.<\/p>\n<p>Vingegaard conquered the foulest day of racing of the year on stage 4 of Paris-Nice on Wednesday wearing the straps of his bib tights <em>over the top\u00a0<\/em>of his jersey.<\/p>\n<p>And that wasn\u2019t all.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201coffending item\u201d had been butchered and slashed to leave a mauled mess of saggy bits and flappy fabrics.<\/p>\n<div class=\"o-embed\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"nl\" dir=\"ltr\">\u26f0\ufe0f \ud835\udc09\ud835\udc0e\ud835\udc0d\ud835\udc00\ud835\udc12 \ud835\udc15\ud835\udc08\ud835\udc0d\ud835\udc06\ud835\udc04\ud835\udc06\ud835\udc00\ud835\udc00\ud835\udc11\ud835\udc03 \ud83d\udc51#ParisNice pic.twitter.com\/eaDFg94XaL<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Paris-Nice (@ParisNice) March 11, 2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>It was the greatest styling \u201cWTF\u201d in memory \u2013 but also the most effective.<\/p>\n<p>The Dane was toasty-warm while he conquered 195km of driving rain and howling winds to claim a crucial first victory of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can call me a trendsetter with the long pants,\u201d Vingegaard joked after the stage. \u201cThere was just no time to take them off.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder -mt-[30px] mb-[30px] flex min-h-[250px] w-full items-center justify-center\">\n<div class=\"w-full \">\n<div id=\"in-content-leaderboard-I0-P0-CMI0\" class=\"flex justify-center text-left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>And Vingegaard had <em>a lot<\/em> of clothes to take off.<\/p>\n<p>He was seen grappling with multiple jackets (one of which was worn backward, no less), a gilet, and heavy gloves throughout the brutal stage through the Loire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think a lot of guys were freezing today,\u201d Vingegaard said after the stage as he sat bundled up in a heavy jacket.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally didn\u2019t freeze because I had a lot of clothes on. But at the important moment, there was no more teammate. So we decided to race to the finish line with the pants on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt did look a bit strange, but the most important thing in a situation like that is to stay warm,\u201d Reef continued. \u201cAnd we managed to do that.
