<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/matthieu-blazy\"><span>Matthieu Blazy<\/span><\/a><span>\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/chanel\"><span>Chanel<\/span><\/a><span>. Don\u2019t believe us? Just look at the multiple media outlets <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/03\/09\/style\/chanel-shopping-blazy-paris-fashion-week.html\"><span>reporting<\/span><\/a><span> on the pandemonium at the boutiques, as well-to-do fashion ladies snap up cardis and mules from Blazy\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/68855\/1\/matthieu-blazy-chanel-ss26-pfw-paris-fashion-week-womens\"><span>critically-acclaimed debut<\/span><\/a><span>. The collection only dropped in stores on March 5, yet the label\u2019s Rue Cambon location in Paris is officially \u201cran through\u201d, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brainmatterbygkj.substack.com\/p\/matthieu-blazy-chanel-shopping-paris-stores-sold-out-spring-2026\"><span>according to<\/span><\/a><span> Gabriella Karefa-Johnson\u2019s Substack. \u201cIt feels like grainy footage from Best Buy in the 90s when flat-screen TVs first dropped on Black Friday,\u201d wrote the stylist on her page. Elsewhere, the editor Bryanboy wrote on Instagram that there were \u201clots of tears\u201d from the \u201chundreds, if not thousands, of people\u201d who flooded the city\u2019s Chanel stores at the weekend, only to be met with empty shelves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While the mania could be an indictment of some fashion people\u2019s questionable stability, the events are actually cold, hard evidence that Blazy has ushered in a new era at Chanel. The French maison is back from quietly ticking over, and reclaiming its position as the most coveted brand in the world. Blazy already followed up that September debut with two (!) more beloved shows \u2013 M\u00e9tiers d\u2019Art in December and couture in January \u2013 and now he returns for his sophomore ready-to-wear collection. Like the Chanel store on Rue Cambon, the Grand Palais has seen its fair share of pandemonium, especially when there\u2019s a Chanel show in town. For all the stars, style and 00s throwback tracks from last night, scroll down for everything that happened at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/aw26\"><span>AW26<\/span><\/a><span> show.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>CRANES IN THE SKY WAS ON THE MOODBOARD<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"9b16bd65-9b01-4404-9f3f-b40900c4a2fd\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1500\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/1\/1441209.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.68\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Chanel AW26 \" class=\"img\" height=\"2217\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/1\/1441209.jpg\" width=\"1500\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of Chanel<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Blazy has taken us to space, to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69205\/1\/chanel-metiers-d-art-2026-new-york-subway-show-matthieu-blazy-ayo-edebiri\"><span>the New York subway<\/span><\/a><span>, to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69496\/1\/chanel-ss26-couture-matthieu-blazy-debut-dua-lipa-nicole-kidman-asap-rocky\"><span>a mushroom patch<\/span><\/a><span>, and now to a building site. Towering true-to-size cranes lined the runway, glowing in bright red, yellow, green and blue. It might have been a less glamorous set-up than we\u2019re used to from Chanel, but it was impressive all the same. The runway itself was lit up to look like a brick road \u2013 but not a yellow one, a faint rainbow brick road instead. The construction site could be seen as symbolic for Blazy, who laid his foundations last season, and continues to build on his vision for Chanel with every collection.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>MARGOT \u2018BOBBIE\u2019 MAKES HER DEBUT\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Last season, Blazy\u2019s front row was filled with current and former Chanel house ambassadors like Vanessa Paradis, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/nicole-kidman\"><span>Nicole Kidman<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/margot-robbie\"><span>Margot Robbie<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ayo-edebiri\"><span>Ayo Edebiri<\/span><\/a><span>. Robbie returned for AW26 (along with a brand new bob), and was also joined by Paradis\u2019 daughter <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/lily-rose-depp\"><span>Lily-Rose Depp<\/span><\/a><span> (who became the youngest-ever face of the brand at age 16), as well as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/teyana-taylor\"><span>Teyana Taylor<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69411\/1\/olivia-dean-interview-2026-o2-show-burberry-her-fragrance\"><span>Olivia Dean<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/kylie-minogue\"><span>Kylie Minogue<\/span><\/a><span>. Like at couture in January, 49-year-old model Stephanie Cavalli opened the show, this time wearing a pleated black zip-up and matching skirt. Unlike a lot of this season\u2019s shows, Chanel made it clear that this was an Autumn\/Winter collection with a series of chunky coats, blazers and takes on the classic tweed suit. Cropped worker jackets riffed on the construction site setting, brightly dyed faux fur completely encased one model, while newly announced ambassador Bhavitha Mandava wore a longline zip-up cardigan, the spiritual sister to the camel quarter-zip she wore to open M\u00e9tiers d\u2019Art.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>MATTHIEU\u2019S METAMORPHOSIS<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"34523409-5c0c-4bbf-bbbb-b40900c48a57\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1500\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/1\/1441193.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.68\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Chanel AW26 \" class=\"img\" height=\"2217\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/1\/1441193.jpg\" width=\"1500\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of Chanel<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>One of Blazy\u2019s key inspirations was an interview that Gabrielle Chanel gave to Le Figaro in the 1950s. In it, Chanel describes fashion as being \u201cboth caterpillar and butterfly. Be a caterpillar by day, and a butterfly by night. We need dresses that crawl and dresses that fly. Because the butterfly doesn\u2019t go to the market. And the caterpillar doesn\u2019t go to the ball.\u201d This was reflected on the runway with pared-back, neutral daywear, contrasted by vibrant and unapologetic evening gowns. While models like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/anok-yai\"><span>Anok Yai<\/span><\/a><span>, Awar Odhiang and show closer Anne V wore both tonal and all-black looks, other models arrived on the catwalk in fluid, iridescent fabrics, their hair slicked back by vibrant streaks of glitter. As the show notes put it, a \u201cdialogue between the real and the artificial\u201d runs throughout the collection.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>BLAZY LOVES TO BOOGIE<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Blazy took dropped waistlines to new lows with this show \u2013 in some cases, with belts reaching the knees. It\u2019s a silhouette we first saw 100 years ago with flappers during the 1920s, who deliberately dropped their waistlines and wore short, loose-fitting dresses so they were able to dance (throwing restrictive corsetry out the window). Blazy\u2019s entire collection was primed for movement; none of it was form-fitting. Elsewhere, the editor Bryanboy wrote on Instagram that there were \u201clots of tears\u201d from the \u201chundreds, if not thousands, of people\u201d who flooded the city\u2019s Chanel stores at the weekend, only to be met with empty shelves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While the mania could be an indictment of some fashion people\u2019s questionable stability, the events are actually cold, hard evidence that Blazy has ushered in a new era at Chanel. The French maison is back from quietly ticking over, and reclaiming its position as the most coveted brand in the world. Blazy already followed up that September debut with two (!) more beloved shows \u2013 M\u00e9tiers d\u2019Art in December and couture in January \u2013 and now he returns for his sophomore ready-to-wear collection. Like the Chanel store on Rue Cambon, the Grand Palais has seen its fair share of pandemonium, especially when there\u2019s a Chanel show in town. Towering true-to-size cranes lined the runway, glowing in bright red, yellow, green and blue. It might have been a less glamorous set-up than we\u2019re used to from Chanel, but it was impressive all the same. The runway itself was lit up to look like a brick road \u2013 but not a yellow one, a faint rainbow brick road instead. While models like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/anok-yai\"><span>Anok Yai<\/span><\/a><span>, Awar Odhiang and show closer Anne V wore both tonal and all-black looks, other models arrived on the catwalk in fluid, iridescent fabrics, their hair slicked back by vibrant streaks of glitter. Blazy\u2019s entire collection was primed for movement; none of it was form-fitting.
