Austin’s relentless trio Portrayal of Guilt<\/strong> are back with their fourth studio album, \u2026Beginning of the End<\/em>, out on April 24 via Run For Cover Records.<\/p>\n The first taste of the album arrives with lead singles “Ecstasy” and “Human Terror”, both available across streaming platforms. “Ecstasy” is paired with a sinister official video directed by Craig Murray<\/strong>, while “Human Terror” comes with a striking visualizer, offering a glimpse into the album’s expansive, genre-defying direction.<\/p>\n Since their debut Let Pain Be Your Guide<\/em>, Portrayal of Guilt<\/strong> have forged a singular musical ecosystem, blending hardcore, black metal, and screamo with imaginative textures. Subsequent releases We Are Always Alone<\/em> and CHRISTFUCKER<\/em> LPs cemented their reputation for fearless experimentation, nodding to industrial, post-metal, sludge, and post-hardcore. Recent EPs and projects, including Devil Music<\/em> and CHRISTFUCKER II<\/em>, expanded into classical and EBM\/goth realms, proving the trio’s appetite for continual evolution.<\/p>\n Recorded and mixed by Phillip Odom <\/strong>between March and June 2025, and mastered by Will Yip<\/strong>, \u2026Beginning of the End<\/em> is the band’s third release with Run For Cover, and the result of eight years of consistent experimentation and growth.<\/p>\n To celebrate the album, Portrayal of Guilt<\/strong> will embark on a headlining North American spring tour, kicking off with a hometown show at Mohawk in Austin on May 9.
