After more than four decades at the helm of Megadeth<\/strong>, frontman Dave<\/strong> Mustaine says the band’s farewell era is approaching \u2013 though fans shouldn’t expect a quick goodbye. In a recent interview with Kerrang!<\/em>, Mustaine<\/strong> suggested a final tour could stretch anywhere from three to five years.<\/p>\n But while the end of Megadeth<\/strong> is in sight, Mustaine<\/strong> is already mapping out life beyond thrash metal \u2013 and Hollywood is calling.<\/p>\n Speaking to Classic Rock (via Guitar)<\/em>, Mustaine<\/strong> revealed he’s seriously considering pursuing acting once Megadeth<\/strong> winds down. “I wouldn’t mind studying acting,” he said, adding that although he’s appeared on screen before, he wants to properly refine his craft.<\/p>\n Mustaine<\/strong>‘s past credits include a villain role as Torchy Thompson<\/strong> on the 2001 TV series Black Scorpion<\/em>, as well as voice work in the 2017 horror-musical Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill<\/em> (no, I didn’t make that up). He’s also hosted game shows and made various sitcom and film appearances over the years.<\/p>\n “I’ve already done a ton of stuff on TV\u2026 so I’m very accustomed to being in front of the camera,” Mustaine<\/strong> explained. “I think that might be fun to do.”<\/p>\n In a move that may shock longtime fans, Mustaine<\/strong> even said he’d consider cutting his trademark red hair \u2013 under the right circumstances.<\/p>\n “If they asked me to cut my hair, I’d be willing to do it! But it would have to be for a guaranteed part \u2013 and a big part.”<\/p>\n Beyond acting, Mustaine<\/strong> also wants to focus on mentorship. The guitarist says he’s eager to share his knowledge with aspiring players of any age. “I really want to share my gift with younger musicians,” he said.<\/p>\n “Actually, it doesn’t even have to be a younger musician. If it’s somebody that’s a little bit older and they want to learn what it is that makes Dave<\/strong> tick, I don’t care about their date of birth, I just want to be able to share.”<\/p>\n Mustaine<\/strong> framed his musical ability as something bigger than himself. “I’ve been gifted.
