The Accessible DIY: A Lace Transfer <\/span><\/h3>\n
If you have a smidge more time on your hands, get creative with lace decals, lace transfer paper (like the Silpecwee Lace Nail Foil), or actual strips of lace.\u00a0 \u201cLace nail decals are great\u2014just peel, place onto the dry polish, press down smoothly, and seal with a glossy top coat,\u201d De Los Santos tells us.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
If you take the lace transfer approach, you\u2019ll need nail foil adhesive. \u201cBrush it on and let it dry clear for about 30 seconds, or cure it (follow the directions),\u201d Kandalec says. \u201cThis adhesive is very tacky, so just press on the transfer foil, top coat, et voil\u00e0<\/em>.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Using actual lace takes a little more time, but the intricate texture it offers makes it well worth it. \u201cCut small pieces of lace slightly larger than each nail,\u201d Choi instructs. \u201cApply a layer of base coat or clear polish, then place the lace directly onto the nail while it\u2019s still slightly tacky. Press firmly to secure, and trim the excess carefully around the edges.\u201d Once the lace looks aligned and trimmed, seal with a top coat.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

As for how to use lace stamps with ease, De Los Santos has us covered. \u201cFor the lace effect, my go-to is the Maniology Nail Stamping Plates,\u201d she shares. \u201cApply stamping polish over the lace design, scrape off the excess, pick up the design with the stamper, and gently press it onto the nail.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Still, if you want to give it your best shot, Kandalec says to start with the larger lace details, then fill in the smaller ones. \u201cDoing this in gel will be 10 times easier than with regular air-dry polish, because you can cure after every step, and you can easily start over if needed,\u201d she points out.\n<\/p>\n\n
