The band, led by the ever-controversial <strong>Tim Lambesis<\/strong>, is currently navigating a run through Russia, which will conclude with a final show in Israel later this month. So if you&#8217;ve been looking for one of the most loaded leads in metal media circa 2026, there it is.<\/p>\n<p>Bassist and vocalist <strong>Chris Clancy<\/strong> shared with <strong>Egor Erushin<\/strong> that the new album is already well underway. &#8220;We&#8217;ve got all the songs ready. We&#8217;ve got way more songs than we need, and we&#8217;ve been whittling through &#8217;em. So we&#8217;re gonna sit down while we&#8217;re on the road, actually, and kind of do some more development to the songs. And when we get back [home after the tour], we&#8217;re gonna really start recording it,&#8221; <strong>Clancy<\/strong> explained.<\/p>\n<p>The lineup, which underwent a second mass exodus of members in 2024 and was rebuilt in 2025, is reportedly making the most of their time on the road. &#8220;So we were gonna start recording it in February, but we thought, well, as we&#8217;re all together, we can kind of develop ideas together as a group and go from there. So it&#8217;s gonna be a busy tour, for many reasons. But we&#8217;ve got a lot of hours when we&#8217;re traveling,&#8221; <strong>Clancy<\/strong> added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lambesis<\/strong> emphasized the band&#8217;s commitment to the upcoming release. &#8220;I will say this \u2013 as soon as we get home from this tour, it&#8217;s our highest priority to focus on that. We cleared everything up so that this is entirely the focus after this,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As I Lay Dying<\/strong> is currently <strong>Lambesis<\/strong> alongside guitarists <strong>Bill Hudson<\/strong> (<strong>NorthTale<\/strong>) and <strong>Don Vedda<\/strong>, bassist and vocalist <strong>Chris Clancy<\/strong> (<strong>Mutiny Within<\/strong>), and drummer <strong>Tim Yeung<\/strong> (ex-<strong>Morbid Angel<\/strong>). I think the real question here is what markets are going to care about a new <strong>As I Lay Dying<\/strong> record in 2026, considering it&#8217;s <strong>Lambesis<\/strong> and then literally nobody that&#8217;s ever been in the band before\u2026 and y&#8217;know, <strong>Lambesis<\/strong>&#8216; history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"zox-post-body left zoxrel zox100\"><strong>Want More Metal?
