{"id":1810420,"date":"2026-03-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-04T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/analyse.optim.biz\/?p=1810420"},"modified":"2026-03-05T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-04T21:00:00","slug":"james-lomenzo-doesnt-totally-rule-out-more-new-megadeth-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/analyse.optim.biz\/?p=1810420","title":{"rendered":"JAMES LOMENZO Doesn&#8217;t Totally Rule Out More New MEGADETH Music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[analyse_image type=&#8221;featured&#8221; src=&#8221;https:\/\/cdn-p.smehost.net\/sites\/7f9737f2506941499994d771a29ad47a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Megadethpywritten-00538.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"zox-post-body left zoxrel zox100\">\n<div id=\"7844\"><\/div>\n<p>Even though <strong>Megadeth<\/strong> have announced that their 2026 self-titled album and global farewell tour will mark the end of the band&#8217;s run, bassist <strong>James LoMenzo<\/strong> says the group&#8217;s story might not be completely finished.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with <em>Loud And Proud Italy<\/em>, <strong>LoMenzo<\/strong> explained that while the band intends the current era to serve as a proper closing chapter, the idea of making new music in the future hasn&#8217;t been ruled out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s no law that says we can&#8217;t make music as we&#8217;re making music,&#8221; <strong>LoMenzo<\/strong> said. &#8220;The great bands, the clasic bands that we love would go on the road, get a studio, record something, and eventually they&#8217;d have enough for half an album or so. That&#8217;s entirely possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to <strong>LoMenzo<\/strong>, the band hasn&#8217;t actually discussed doing more music beyond the farewell campaign, but he emphasized that nothing legally or creatively prevents them from doing so.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the hints that more music could someday surface, <strong>LoMenzo<\/strong> stressed that the farewell tour and album are not meant as a marketing gimmick \u2013 something famously associated with past &#8220;last tours&#8221; by artists like <strong>The Who<\/strong>, <strong>Kiss<\/strong>, and <strong>M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that bandleader <strong>Dave Mustaine<\/strong> was especially committed to making the farewell genuine. &#8220;And <strong>Dave<\/strong> is adamant about this,&#8221; <strong>LoMenzo<\/strong> explained. &#8220;We&#8217;re not doing this to cash in or cash out. We&#8217;re doing this to be sincere and to really bring the legacy to its closure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That philosophy also influenced the decision to name the record <em>Megadeth<\/em>. &#8220;For that reason, calling the album <em>Megadeth<\/em> was the logical title,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The culmination of the whole thing.&#8221;\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"zox-post-body left zoxrel zox100\"><strong>Want More Metal?
