Ruby Hill Rail Yard has closed for the 2026 season due to unseasonably warm weather and wind.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The closure comes after a record-low 13.4 inches of snow accumulation in Denver this winter. <\/strong>The rail park averages around 50\u2033 of snowfall a winter. According to Denver Parks and Recreation, there was only one true window for snowmaking this year. That opportunity came during Denver\u2019s largest cold snap of the year right in the middle of the Denver Broncos\u2019 AFC Championship run.<\/span><\/p>\n

With overnight lows hovering in the 30s throughout late February, the park was unable to fire the snow guns back up, leaving the existing snowpack at the mercy of Mother Nature.<\/strong><\/p>\n
