Genesis\u2019s Magma GT supercar concept is the shock this monochrome EV age desperately needs. While everyone else hums about the future, Luc Donckerwolke decided to upstage the GV60 Magma launch by rolling out a blazing orange projectile with a proper V8. It roared onto the stage and left in a cloud of tyre smoke.<\/p>\n

Unlike some, this isn\u2019t vapourware destined for a cupboard \u2013 it\u2019s the opening move in a bona fide motorsport plan. GT3 requires homologation, which means 200 cars \u2013 showing Genesis is clearly not playing dressup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

With its twin turbo V8, scissor doors and swollen arches, this is a proper thing. A supercar from Hyundai. Who\u2019d have thought that?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit the swoopy Magma GT Concept looks completely excellent, and that a brand new twin turbo V8 supercar is hugely exciting in this day and age. And yet, the sceptic in me says that I\u2019ll believe it when I see it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hasn\u2019t every young manufacturer unveiled a two-door mid-engined concept car at some point, claiming they\u2019re about to take on the established supercar class?<\/p>\n

If every promised \u2018Ferrari beater\u2019 had come to fruition, Maranello would be a pile of rubble right about now.
