The A10 upped power from the BMW M5 V8 from 500 to 625bhp and swapped the manual gearbox for a racing style sequential.<\/p>\n<h3>Did they actually build any?<\/h3>\n<p>Fifty were mooted but we\u2019re only aware of one ever having actually been completed. It was a good one to be fair, lapping the TG test track in 1min 17.3secs, making it the fastest car ever&#8230; back in late 2007. And it sounded utterly thunderous.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<h3>Where are they now?<\/h3>\n<p>Ascari went bust in 2010, though the founder\u2019s race resort in Spain still remains active today. The former Ascari factory in Banbury, Oxfordshire might be cursed: it\u2019s since been occupied by the ill-fated Manor and Marussia F1 teams, and today\u2019s perpetual strugglers, Haas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is it?
