However, via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/it-was-just-straight-up-false-advertising-warhammer-40000-space-marine-2s-5-voice-pack-dlc-sparks-the-games-first-really-big-backlash-since-launch\">IGN<\/a>, we&#8217;ve learned the DLC is a bit of a mess, at least right now. Looking at <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/4247850\/Warhammer_40000_Space_Marine_2__Chapter_Voice_Pack_1\/\">the pack&#8217;s Steam page<\/a> ourselves, we find the reviews sitting at Very Negative, which is a rare sight when it comes to one of the most glowing triple-A hits in recent memory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These paid voices don&#8217;t have as much voiced lines as the original classes, they lack banters and interact lines. Equipping these voices basically locks you into an inferior experience compared to original voices,&#8221; one review explains before listing issues like missing helmet filters and the new heads lacking animations to boot. &#8220;Nothing more than a cash grab,&#8221; another user added. Other egregious problems include missing banter during missions that were chattier before, and level interactions that don&#8217;t trigger any voice lines.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The hits keep coming if you scroll down the list of angry reviews: &#8220;Underbaked and frankly a scam,&#8221; a player said while also suggesting it should&#8217;ve been part of the second Year Pass to offset part of the disappointment. Following all the backlash, chances are Saber will upgrade the DLC sooner rather than later, but if most of these issues aren&#8217;t bugs and the DLC is just missing <em>a ton <\/em>of what was promised, a fixed-up version might take a while to arrive.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, Focus and Saber haven&#8217;t officially commented on the game&#8217;s first major misstep with its loyal community.
