The Freeride World Tour has canceled the Georgia Pro competition scheduled for Thursday in K\u00fchtai, Austria, citing conditions that did not meet safety and fairness standards required at the sport\u2019s highest level, according to an official event statement. <\/strong>Organizers said the decision came after extensive preparation work at the venue and a detailed evaluation of snow and mountain conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile significant work was done to prepare the venue, the current conditions do not allow for a competition that would be both fair for all athletes and aligned with the safety standards required at FWT Pro level,\u201d the organization said in its announcement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Tour emphasized that the call was made only after careful consideration and was \u201cnot taken lightly,\u201d adding that ensuring equal competitive opportunity and athlete safety remains the tour\u2019s top priority. <\/strong>The Georgia Pro had already faced disruption earlier in the season after the originally scheduled stop in Mestia, Georgia, was canceled<\/a> due to unstable snowpack. The event had been relocated to K\u00fchtai, near Innsbruck, as organizers attempted to salvage the third stop of the 2026 season calendar.<\/p>\n

The Freeride World Tour thanked local organizing teams in Georgia, K\u00fchtai, and Innsbruck, as well as staff and partners, for their work preparing the event despite ultimately unfavorable conditions. <\/strong>No further competition date was announced in Thursday\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n
