emerging talent and established stars for a packed week of catwalks. Tolu Coker kicked things off with her <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36720\/0\/tolu-coker-aw26\"><span>bold claim to the fashion week throne<\/span><\/a><span>, followed by the always original and never boring <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36719\/0\/central-saint-martins-ma-fashion-2026\"><span>Central Saint Martins MA grad show<\/span><\/a><span>. Following that, ghostly figures plagued the runway at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36721\/0\/lueder-aw26\"><span>LUEDER\u2019s latest collection<\/span><\/a><span>, Daniel Del Valle\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69710\/1\/thevxlley-aw26-fw26-london-fashion-week-lfw-daniel-del-valle-debut\"><span>Thevxlley brought its wearable art to the schedule<\/span><\/a><span> for the very first time, both <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36725\/0\/masha-popova-aw26\"><span>Masha Popova<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36735\/0\/karoline-vitto-aw26\"><span>Karoline Vitto<\/span><\/a><span> made powerful returns to LFW, while <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69730\/1\/burberry-aw26-fw26-london-fashion-week-lfw-daniel-lee\"><span>Burberry closed out the week<\/span><\/a><span> with an after-dark special. For everything else you might\u2019ve missed, scroll down for our AW26 best bits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>AARON ESH <\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Having launched his own brand in 2022, it was announced last October that East London designer Aaron Esh would be joining AllSaints as chief creative officer. He was already a busy man, but with new titles come new responsibilities, meaning he has even less time now than he had previously. Regardless, Esh typically sits out the February fashion season, usually opting to show in September instead. For AW26, the designer delivered his collection via lookbook, showcasing a focused and refined capsule collection. Photographed on the streets of East London, the clothes are pictured in their natural habitat \u2013 they\u2019re supposed to be worn and easily added to a daily wardrobe. It\u2019s a collection built on a foundation of staples: jeans, trench coats, leather jackets, Harrington jackets and cable knits, all with a gritty Aaron Esh twist. <\/span><\/p>\n<h1>SIMONE ROCHA<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"c3a99fe5-6d4c-4b64-9e7e-b3fc015b5a87\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439134.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.8\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439134.jpg\" width=\"2400\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Simone Rocha AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Simone Rocha<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/simone-rocha\">Simone Rocha<\/a>\u2019s triumphant return to London Fashion Week drew upon a rich vein of Irish culture, including <\/span><em><span>T\u00edr na n\u00d3g<\/span><\/em><span> &#8211; a mythical land of eternal youth; the Arts and Crafts Movement of the early 20th century, and Perry Ogden\u2019s <\/span><em><span>Pony Kids,<\/span><\/em><span> a 1999 photography series which captured young people in Dublin alongside their horses. In a nod to this latter influence, there were equestrian touches throughout the collection, such as dressage ribbons and bows, alongside the hyper-feminine floral patterns and silk, satin and lace materials which have become Rocha&#8217;s trademark. What made this collection a departure from her previous work, however, was the introduction of a starker and more androgynous sportswear element (the result of a collaboration with adidas Classics): alongside sumptuous \u201cpeat-green\u201d evening gowns, there were black bomber jackets, leotards, track tops and knee-high socks. It all made for a thrilling contrast, like a hallucinatory period drama crashing into the cutting-edge of contemporary street style.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>CHOPOVA LOWENA<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"9af6399c-004d-453f-9d82-b3fc015b5269\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1184\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439132.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"1776\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439132.jpg\" width=\"1184\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Chopova Lowena AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Chopova Lowena<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Famously, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/chopova-lowena\">Chopova Lowena<\/a> only shows once a year, meaning that February\u2019s offering usually arrives by way of a lookbook, or presentation, as it was this season. The design duo took over north London\u2019s Crafts Council to show their latest collection, which was called <\/span><em><span>Too Ripe and Ready by Half.<\/span><\/em><span> Where usually Chopova collections can feel punky and fuelled by teenage angst, this display was softer and cuter than ever. Mannequins were positioned so that their hands were held up in front of their chest like paws, while wearing knitted hoods with ears. One of them was made to look like a black cat, the other a little dog begging for its supper. It was fluffier than usual too, with faux fur boots, collars and pompoms decorating the shoes. There\u2019s always an element of whimsy to Chopova, but AW26 took it to adorable new heights. <\/span><\/p>\n<h1>CHET LO<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"6d3277c8-ae45-4ed9-83c3-b3fc015b1a6d\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439115.JPG\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439115.JPG\" width=\"2000\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Chet Lo AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Chet Lo<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Chet Lo\u2019s AW26 show was inspired by Hong Kong\u2019s night markets, which the designer had replicated inside London\u2019s Mandarin Oriental hotel. \u201cThis is where Queen Elizabeth learnt to dance,\u201d Lo told Dazed backstage, \u201cso I thought it was funny to have the juxtaposition of an Asian night market in this ballroom.\u201d The stalls featured at the night market showcased the work of ten emerging Asian artists, meanwhile the profits made from the market have been donated to the Asian People\u2019s Disability Alliance. As for the clothes, it was a compact collection with only 13 looks, though each one had been carefully refined. For an evening market, naturally, Lo produced a series of eveningwear gowns, inspired by Peking opera and the cinematic world of Wong Kar Wai.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>LUCILA SAFDIE<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"0d8b13ca-b06f-4ae4-8954-b3fc015b49e8\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439127.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439127.jpg\" width=\"2004\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Lucila Safdie AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Much like Simone Rocha, Lucila Safdie\u2019s latest show offers a subversive twist on the aesthetics of traditional \u2013 and in this case, English \u2013 femininity. It\u2019s framed around the societal debut of Bunny Bell, a fictional character who is \u201cbored with life, but performs her part beautifully\u201d, as per the show notes, and casts a cynical view at the men attempting to court her (\u201cboys are only good for nice hair.\u201d) But this isn\u2019t your great-grandmother\u2019s debutante ball: while there are wool coats, polo dresses and elegant evening gowns which wouldn\u2019t look <\/span><em><span>too <\/span><\/em><span>out of place on an episode of <\/span><em><span>Downton Abbey<\/span><\/em><span>, the collection offers a space where \u201cprim conformity curdles into rebellion\u201d: think Y2K-inflected twists like trainers, ultra-short miniskirts, slogan tees and midriff-exposing blouses. It\u2019s a very fun collection, which makes it clear why the Argentinian designer has won a host of famous fans, including Addison Rae and Rachel Sennott.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>OSCAR OUYANG<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"0440636c-2fb1-4772-91c4-b3fc015b6293\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1760\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439137.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.8\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"2200\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439137.jpg\" width=\"1760\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Oscar Oyuang AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Oscar Oyuang<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Oscar Ouyang threw a masquerade ball for his second-ever London Fashion Week show. Usually, 180 Strand\u2019s NEWGEN show space looks pretty much the same for every designer, but not for Ouyang \u2013 who managed to transform it into an Aladdin\u2019s cave of treasures. Inside, hay bales and spinning wheels were meant to make us feel like we were inside a barn, where a group of affluent young men had planned an epic party. Relics from the family manor house had been brought into the barn \u2013 a rocking horse, a chaise longue, wine glasses \u2013 while models weaved in and out of them to the sound of Pulp\u2019s \u201cCommon People\u201d. Capes, cummerbunds and military-style regency period waistcoats all appeared on the runway in brooding tones of black, white and red. But if the materials speak to the heaviness of a British winter (and some of the garments would keep you warm in the most baltic of smoking areas), the bright colour palettes suggest sunnier times to come: there\u2019s cyan and royal blue dresses; orange scarfs, gold leather trousers, and baggy pants with floral patterns, with repeated tones of green, yellow and red evoking the Rastafari flag. Rather than simply being an exercise in nostalgia, the show\u2019s \u2018beep test\u2019 theme is intended to explore the parallels between creativity and sports, and to convey the struggle of being a creative in London, where \u2013 as the show notes put it \u2013 external conditions <\/span><span>don\u2019t always align \u201cwith the amount of effort or intention being put in.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Highlights included dresses, skirts and pantsuits upcycled from old PE kits donated by her alma mater, Walthamstow School for Girls, and old tracksuits from sportswear brand <\/span><span>PANGAIA<\/span><span>. Elsewhere, there was an emphasis on leather, which was often draped over the models in unexpected, sculptural ways. Tolu Coker kicked things off with her <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36720\/0\/tolu-coker-aw26\"><span>bold claim to the fashion week throne<\/span><\/a><span>, followed by the always original and never boring <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36719\/0\/central-saint-martins-ma-fashion-2026\"><span>Central Saint Martins MA grad show<\/span><\/a><span>. Following that, ghostly figures plagued the runway at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36721\/0\/lueder-aw26\"><span>LUEDER\u2019s latest collection<\/span><\/a><span>, Daniel Del Valle\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69710\/1\/thevxlley-aw26-fw26-london-fashion-week-lfw-daniel-del-valle-debut\"><span>Thevxlley brought its wearable art to the schedule<\/span><\/a><span> for the very first time, both <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36725\/0\/masha-popova-aw26\"><span>Masha Popova<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36735\/0\/karoline-vitto-aw26\"><span>Karoline Vitto<\/span><\/a><span> made powerful returns to LFW, while <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69730\/1\/burberry-aw26-fw26-london-fashion-week-lfw-daniel-lee\"><span>Burberry closed out the week<\/span><\/a><span> with an after-dark special. For everything else you might\u2019ve missed, scroll down for our AW26 best bits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>AARON ESH <\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Having launched his own brand in 2022, it was announced last October that East London designer Aaron Esh would be joining AllSaints as chief creative officer. He was already a busy man, but with new titles come new responsibilities, meaning he has even less time now than he had previously. Regardless, Esh typically sits out the February fashion season, usually opting to show in September instead. For AW26, the designer delivered his collection via lookbook, showcasing a focused and refined capsule collection. Photographed on the streets of East London, the clothes are pictured in their natural habitat \u2013 they\u2019re supposed to be worn and easily added to a daily wardrobe. In a nod to this latter influence, there were equestrian touches throughout the collection, such as dressage ribbons and bows, alongside the hyper-feminine floral patterns and silk, satin and lace materials which have become Rocha&#8217;s trademark. What made this collection a departure from her previous work, however, was the introduction of a starker and more androgynous sportswear element (the result of a collaboration with adidas Classics): alongside sumptuous \u201cpeat-green\u201d evening gowns, there were black bomber jackets, leotards, track tops and knee-high socks. It all made for a thrilling contrast, like a hallucinatory period drama crashing into the cutting-edge of contemporary street style.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>CHOPOVA LOWENA<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"9af6399c-004d-453f-9d82-b3fc015b5269\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1184\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439132.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"1776\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439132.jpg\" width=\"1184\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Chopova Lowena AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Chopova Lowena<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Famously, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/chopova-lowena\">Chopova Lowena<\/a> only shows once a year, meaning that February\u2019s offering usually arrives by way of a lookbook, or presentation, as it was this season. The design duo took over north London\u2019s Crafts Council to show their latest collection, which was called <\/span><em><span>Too Ripe and Ready by Half.<\/span><\/em><span> Where usually Chopova collections can feel punky and fuelled by teenage angst, this display was softer and cuter than ever. Mannequins were positioned so that their hands were held up in front of their chest like paws, while wearing knitted hoods with ears. One of them was made to look like a black cat, the other a little dog begging for its supper. It was fluffier than usual too, with faux fur boots, collars and pompoms decorating the shoes. There\u2019s always an element of whimsy to Chopova, but AW26 took it to adorable new heights. <\/span><\/p>\n<h1>CHET LO<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"6d3277c8-ae45-4ed9-83c3-b3fc015b1a6d\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439115.JPG\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439115.JPG\" width=\"2000\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Chet Lo AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Chet Lo<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Chet Lo\u2019s AW26 show was inspired by Hong Kong\u2019s night markets, which the designer had replicated inside London\u2019s Mandarin Oriental hotel. \u201cThis is where Queen Elizabeth learnt to dance,\u201d Lo told Dazed backstage, \u201cso I thought it was funny to have the juxtaposition of an Asian night market in this ballroom.\u201d The stalls featured at the night market showcased the work of ten emerging Asian artists, meanwhile the profits made from the market have been donated to the Asian People\u2019s Disability Alliance. As for the clothes, it was a compact collection with only 13 looks, though each one had been carefully refined. For an evening market, naturally, Lo produced a series of eveningwear gowns, inspired by Peking opera and the cinematic world of Wong Kar Wai.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>LUCILA SAFDIE<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"0d8b13ca-b06f-4ae4-8954-b3fc015b49e8\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439127.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439127.jpg\" width=\"2004\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Lucila Safdie AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Much like Simone Rocha, Lucila Safdie\u2019s latest show offers a subversive twist on the aesthetics of traditional \u2013 and in this case, English \u2013 femininity. It\u2019s framed around the societal debut of Bunny Bell, a fictional character who is \u201cbored with life, but performs her part beautifully\u201d, as per the show notes, and casts a cynical view at the men attempting to court her (\u201cboys are only good for nice hair.\u201d) But this isn\u2019t your great-grandmother\u2019s debutante ball: while there are wool coats, polo dresses and elegant evening gowns which wouldn\u2019t look <\/span><em><span>too <\/span><\/em><span>out of place on an episode of <\/span><em><span>Downton Abbey<\/span><\/em><span>, the collection offers a space where \u201cprim conformity curdles into rebellion\u201d: think Y2K-inflected twists like trainers, ultra-short miniskirts, slogan tees and midriff-exposing blouses. It\u2019s a very fun collection, which makes it clear why the Argentinian designer has won a host of famous fans, including Addison Rae and Rachel Sennott.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>OSCAR OUYANG<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"0440636c-2fb1-4772-91c4-b3fc015b6293\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1760\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439137.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.8\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"2200\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439137.jpg\" width=\"1760\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Oscar Oyuang AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Oscar Oyuang<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Oscar Ouyang threw a masquerade ball for his second-ever London Fashion Week show. Usually, 180 Strand\u2019s NEWGEN show space looks pretty much the same for every designer, but not for Ouyang \u2013 who managed to transform it into an Aladdin\u2019s cave of treasures. Inside, hay bales and spinning wheels were meant to make us feel like we were inside a barn, where a group of affluent young men had planned an epic party. Relics from the family manor house had been brought into the barn \u2013 a rocking horse, a chaise longue, wine glasses \u2013 while models weaved in and out of them to the sound of Pulp\u2019s \u201cCommon People\u201d. Capes, cummerbunds and military-style regency period waistcoats all appeared on the runway in brooding tones of black, white and red. Meanwhile, flashes of gold appeared in the clothes, on the masks and even in the models\u2019 hair, as if Rumpelstiltskin himself had spun the straw into gold.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>PAULINE DUJANCOURT<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"d87c328b-96d4-4313-83a3-b3fc015b7fdf\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439144.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.8\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439144.jpg\" width=\"2400\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Pauline Dujancourt AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Pauline Dujancourt<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>While werewolves were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69678\/1\/werewolves-trend-timothee-chalamet-twilight-gabe-gordon-furry\">having a moment<\/a> this season, French designer Pauline Dujancourt turned her sharp eye towards a different folkloric figure: the witch. Dujancourt is not interested in the witch as a horror trope or \u201can ugly, ridiculous figure, one we laugh at and dress up as\u201d, however, but in the tragic, all too real history of the women who were persecuted \u2013 the show notes reference author and journalist Mona Chollet, who wrote that there are today almost no monuments dedicated to those killed during the witch hunts. Imagining these women \u201cat home in their beds in the dark, making lace with wooden bobbins\u201d \u2013 as the show notes read \u2013 <em>Walking on Eggshells <\/em>is an attempt to redress that erasure, and to offer \u201ca proclamation against the historical preconceptions of what a woman should be.\u201d Deploying traditional techniques like crochet, handknitting and tulle macrame\u0301, and a colour palette consistently mostly of blacks, greys and sombre greens, the pieces have an out-of-time, surreal or even gently sinister quality\u2013 the chiffon silk capes, woven hoods and elaborately pleated dresses could be drawn from a dark fairytale.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>JAWARA ALLEYNE<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"499b3f31-3695-43e1-84a8-b3fc015b3941\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439122.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"London Fashion Week AW26\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1430\/9\/1439122.jpg\" width=\"2000\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Jawara Alleyne AW26<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of <span class=\"nowrap\">Jawara Alleyne<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>As clubs, bars and clubs continued to shutter across London at an existential rate, Jawara\u2019s Alleyne AFW show paid homage to the power of social spaces as sites of connection, belonging and transformation:<\/span><em><span> Nightlife<\/span><\/em><span>, according to the<\/span><span> Caymanian-Jamaican designer,<\/span><span> is \u201cless an inspiration for the club and more of a reflection of what it\u2019s capable of doing.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Drawing inspiration from pop culture figures like Rihanna and A$AP Rocky alongside Brazilian artist Paulo Nimer Pjota, the collection features plenty of thick outerwear pieces, trench coats and jackets made with boiled wools, felt and gabardines. But if the materials speak to the heaviness of a British winter (and some of the garments would keep you warm in the most baltic of smoking areas), the bright colour palettes suggest sunnier times to come: there\u2019s cyan and royal blue dresses; orange scarfs, gold leather trousers, and baggy pants with floral patterns, with repeated tones of green, yellow and red evoking the Rastafari flag. But the show put McKenzie\u2019s own school days as \u201cthe Queen of PE\u201d (she still holds a borough record for athletics) to excellent use. Rather than simply being an exercise in nostalgia, the show\u2019s \u2018beep test\u2019 theme is intended to explore the parallels between creativity and sports, and to convey the struggle of being a creative in London, where \u2013 as the show notes put it \u2013 external conditions <\/span><span>don\u2019t always align \u201cwith the amount of effort or intention being put in.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Highlights included dresses, skirts and pantsuits upcycled from old PE kits donated by her alma mater, Walthamstow School for Girls, and old tracksuits from sportswear brand <\/span><span>PANGAIA<\/span><span>. Elsewhere, there was an emphasis on leather, which was often draped over the models in unexpected, sculptural ways.
