El viziteaz\u0103 familia surorii sale, so\u021bii Arpel, care tr\u0103iesc \u00eentr-o vil\u0103 ultramodern\u0103, rece, geometrizat\u0103, plin\u0103 de dispozitive inutile \u0219i automatiz\u0103ri absurde.<\/p>\n<p>Contrastul este nucleul filmului: pe de o parte, avem casa lui Hulot \u2013 dezordonat\u0103, cald\u0103, plin\u0103 de via\u021b\u0103 \u2013, pe de alt\u0103 parte, Vila Arpel \u2013 steril\u0103, mecanizat\u0103, dominat\u0103 de func\u021bionalism ostentativ.<\/p>\n<p>Tati construie\u0219te comicul nu prin dialog (care este minim), ci prin sunet, mi\u0219care \u0219i montaj vizual.<br \/>\nFiecare sc\u00e2r\u021b\u00e2it de u\u0219\u0103, fiecare declan\u0219are automat\u0103 a f\u00e2nt\u00e2nii decorative devin parte dintr-o partitur\u0103 comic\u0103 subtil\u0103. Filmul este o critic\u0103 tandr\u0103, nu agresiv\u0103, a obsesiei postbelice pentru progres tehnologic \u0219i design func\u021bional. Vila Arpel pare mai degrab\u0103 o expozi\u021bie industrial\u0103, nu o cas\u0103 locuit\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>Obiectele nu sunt f\u0103cute pentru oameni; oamenii sunt obliga\u021bi s\u0103 se adapteze obiectelor.<br \/>\nTati ironizeaz\u0103 conformismul social, fascina\u021bia pentru aparen\u021b\u0103 \u0219i pierderea spontaneit\u0103\u021bii \u00een societatea de consum. Totu\u0219i, \u00een film nu exist\u0103 cinism. Hulot nu agreseaz\u0103 lumea modern\u0103, ci doar o \u00eencurc\u0103, o deregleaz\u0103, o umanizeaz\u0103 prin simpla sa prezen\u021b\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>Tati folose\u0219te cadre largi, statice, \u00een care gagurile se desf\u0103\u0219oar\u0103 simultan \u00een mai multe planuri.<br \/>\nPrivitorul trebuie s\u0103 \u201edescopere\u201d umorul, nu \u00eei este servit direct. Ritmul este deliberat lent, aproape contemplativ.<br \/>\nLeg\u0103tura dintre Hulot \u0219i nepotul s\u0103u G\u00e9rard este inima filmului. Copilul, prins \u00eentre disciplina rigid\u0103 a p\u0103rin\u021bilor \u0219i libertatea ludic\u0103 a unchiului, g\u0103se\u0219te \u00een Hulot o evadare din artificialitatea lumii adulte. Aceast\u0103 rela\u021bie ofer\u0103 filmului o dimensiune emo\u021bional\u0103 discret\u0103 \u0219i profund\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eMon oncle\u201d a c\u00e2\u0219tigat premiul Oscar pentru cel mai bun film str\u0103in \u00een 1959 \u0219i premiul special al juriului la Cannes. Filmul r\u0103m\u00e2ne una dintre cele mai importante comedii europene ale secolului al XX-lea.
