If Korn<\/strong> fans are starting to feel restless waiting for the band’s next studio album, they might want to take a deep breath because the band themselves are in no rush at all.<\/p>\n
Speaking recently with Loudwire<\/em>, guitarist Brian “Head” Welch<\/strong> opened up about the status of Korn<\/strong>‘s long-gestating 15th<\/sup> full-length record, revealing that the group are actively enjoying the break from their usual album-release cycle.<\/p>\n
“I really love the fact that it’s taking a long time,” Welch<\/strong> said. “I always told management that I wish that we would wait a little bit between albums. We’re just so addicted to the studio that we get in there and we’re putting albums out every two or three years, ever since I rejoined. And so I love that there’s been delays.”<\/p>\n
For a band that’s spent three decades operating at near-constant momentum, the pause is intentional. According to Welch<\/strong>, Korn<\/strong>‘s current focus isn’t on chasing a release date, but on maximizing what they already have.<\/p>\n
“We’re a fortunate band, we’ve been around for awhile and we’ve got an extensive catalog with a lot of well-known songs,” he explained.<\/p>\n
“We’re focusing right now on our live show \u2026 It feels like we don’t even need a new album. Everything’s just going so well, but that’s not to say we’re not going to find some time to go in again. I feel like it’s not priority right now.”<\/p>\n
That doesn’t mean Korn<\/strong> have hit pause creatively. Welch<\/strong> confirmed the band will be regrouping soon to take stock of what they’ve been working on \u2014 and hinted that 2026 may still hold a few unexpected moments.<\/p>\n
“We’re going to meet together and see where we’re at,” he said. “There could be a couple of surprises this year \u2026 We’re going to have some cool announcements for dates around the world and stuff coming this year.”\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
