Dumping snow again yesterday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eight inches overnight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Avalanche danger remained at 5\/5, EXTREME.<\/strong><\/p>\n

People who\u2019ve been coming here since the 90s say they don\u2019t remember a stretch this snowy with avalanche danger this high.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Alps are going off.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We were on the Golf chair in Village M\u00e9ribel at 9 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From there, we headed to Adret. The snow was good, but you could feel the bottom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nadia had the idea to go as high as possible and try some of her secret spots.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Up high, visibility was nonexistent and the skiing was rough.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then we stumbled onto a chair called M\u00fbres Rouges, and it was just right.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not too steep. Not too flat. And it holds some terrific freeride terrain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honestly, it felt like British Columbia with deep, dry snow and sumptuous pillows all over.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We lapped it in very deep, untouched snow that\u2019s been stacking up since the big 2-meter cycle began.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There were trees for reference, too, which helped with the tough light.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I cranked laps there until about 1 p.m., when it was time to head home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sara and crew were headed to Paris. I was headed to Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, about an hour away.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the first time on this trip, I was about to be on my own.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We cleaned up the condo, said our goodbyes, and hit the road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The drive to Sainte-Foy was smooth in my rented Toyota Yaris, and the roads were friendly.<\/strong><\/p>\n
