The Freeride World Tour has officially canceled the Georgia Pro, citing unsafe snowpack conditions at the planned competition venue in Mestia. <\/strong>In a statement released February 20, the FIS Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance said the decision followed \u201cextensive evaluation\u201d by officials, mountain safety teams, and local experts. Organizers determined that current conditions could not meet the standards required to safely hold the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrent conditions do not meet the standards required to ensure athlete and staff safety,\u201d the tour said. \u201cMultiple venue and scheduling options were carefully assessed before reaching this decision, and the structural instability observed would not sufficiently improve within the available window.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Georgia Pro was scheduled as the third stop of the 2026 FWT season.<\/strong> Mestia, located in the Caucasus Mountains, has become a prominent freeride venue in recent years, known for its steep terrain and deep snowpack, but also for complex avalanche conditions.<\/p>\n
