Eala\u2019s fans as \u201cincredible\u201d and declared that the Filipina star is \u201csuch a good representation of her country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/alex-eala\">Eala<\/a> is a trailblazer for tennis in the Philippines, having already established herself as her nation\u2019s most successful player by far.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old, who is set to climb to a career-high ranking of 32nd next week, is the only player from the Philippines to ever be ranked in the top 100.<\/p>\n<p>During her breakout 2025 season, Eala became her country\u2019s first player to reach a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wta-tour\">WTA Tour<\/a> final and win a Grand Slam match.<\/p>\n<p>She has received remarkable support from her compatriots at tournaments so far in 2026, including at the WTA 1000 in Dubai this week, where she reached the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>After her second round upset win against world No 8 Jasmine Paolini in Dubai, Eala said of the crowd: \u201cI looked up and there were Filipinos for days. It\u2019s really such a blessing to be able to play in these sorts of atmospheres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really privileged and thankful that I\u2019m able to introduce this new sporting world \u2013 women\u2019s tennis \u2013 to a new demographic. It\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think she\u2019s also such a good representation of her country. I mean, she\u2019s so young, and she carries herself so well. It\u2019s so good to see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old American also revealed she stayed at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre to watch some of Eala\u2019s third round victory against Sorana Cirstea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI caught a little bit of the beginning of her match last night,\u201d Anisimova said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, I stuck around for it because the atmosphere was so great. I normally wouldn\u2019t. But since our hotel is right at the site, it was like, \u2018Why not?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was kind of getting late. That\u2019s why I ended up leaving early. It was great to see. It\u2019s always fun to be a spectator and not have to have so much stress around a tennis court, just be able to sit back and relax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, it was great to see.
