href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69313\/1\/timothe-chalamet-wants-to-dress-fakemink-susan-boyle-marty-supreme\"><span>Susan Boyle<\/span><\/a><span>, and now, the 30-year-old actor has bravely come out as a Twihard. This week, Timmy posted a mirror selfie on his Instagram stories, unmistakably wearing merch from <\/span><em><span>The Twilight Saga\u2019s<\/span><\/em><span> third movie, <\/span><em><span>Eclipse. <\/span><\/em><span>Not only that, but his choice of t-shirt \u2013 featuring a large black-and-white image of Taylor Lautner\u2019s face \u2013 strongly suggests he\u2019s Team Jacob.<\/span><span>\u00a0Whether Timmy really is dancing with wolves, or simply poking fun at his friend and <em>Dune: Part Three<\/em> co-star\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/robert-pattinson\"><span>Robert Pattinson<\/span><\/a><span>,<\/span><span>\u00a0he\u2019s not the only one referencing the supernatural shapeshifters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/nyfw\">New York Fashion Week<\/a> last weekend, there was something hairy about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/36689\/0\/fashion-goes-full-frostbite-at-gabe-gordon-s-aw26\"><span>Gabe Gordon\u2019s AW26 show<\/span><\/a><span>. Titled <em>Frostbite<\/em>, the show was part inspired by 80s figure skaters, and part inspired by the cult 80s horror movie, <\/span><em><span>An American Werewolf in London.<\/span><\/em><span> Models carried vintage ice skates while claws grew from the end of their fingernails and tufts of hair sprouted from their wrists. For some of us (me), it never really left our consciousness, but with the book\u2019s 20th anniversary last year, the viral \u201choa hoa hoa\u201d season <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@tyler_warwick\/video\/7280695092623543554?lang=en-GB\">trend<\/a>, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/kristen-stewart\"><span>Kristen Stewart<\/span><\/a><span> admitting that she\u2019d love to direct a reboot, it\u2019s an exciting time to be a Twihard. And don\u2019t think we\u2019ve forgotten the\u00a0<\/span><em><span>Midnight Sun<\/span><\/em><span> animated series due for release at some point this year, which will retell the <\/span><em><span>Twilight <\/span><\/em>story<em><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span>from Edward\u2019s perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While vampires have been the source of fashion inspiration for decades (see <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/alexander-mcqueen\"><span>Alexander McQueen\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> SS96 <em>The Hunger<\/em>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/jean-paul-gaultier\"><span>Jean Paul Gaultier<\/span><\/a><span>AW14, or more recently, the work of Transylvanian brand ABODI), their canine frenemies have never been quite as popular. Still, the iconography of werewolves \u2013 or at least wolves \u2013 has made some interesting appearances throughout fashion history. Of course, if anyone was going to send actual wolves (or large dogs) down the runway, it was Alexander McQueen, which is exactly what he did for his AW02 show. Then there was the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/gallery\/31752\/1\/schiaparelli-ss23-couture\"><span>Schiaparelli SS23 couture collection<\/span><\/a><span>, in which <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/naomi-campbell\"><span>Naomi Campbell<\/span><\/a><span> wore a wolf\u2019s head on her shoulder, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/60918\/1\/watch-lila-moss-frolic-with-a-robo-dog-for-coperni-aw23-campaign\"><span>Coperni\u2019s AW23 collection<\/span><\/a><span> campaign, inspired by Aesop&#8217;s fable\u00a0<\/span><em><span>The Wolf and The Lamb<\/span><\/em><span>. But the tides may be changing. Beyond Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet and Gabe Gordon, even director Robert Eggers has switched sides, closing his <\/span><em><span>Nosferatu <\/span><\/em><span>chapter and moving onto <\/span><em><span>Werwulf \u2013 <\/span><\/em><span>a period horror film about a lyncathrophic creature stalking a 13th century English village,\u00a0<\/span><span>starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/lily-rose-depp\"><span>Lily-Rose Depp<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and<span>\u00a0Willem Dafoe, and due for release at the end of this year. Less gothic was the 2024 film, <\/span><em><span>Nightbitch, <\/span><\/em><span>in which Amy Adams becomes convinced that she\u2019s turning into a dog at night, while later this year, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/66901\/1\/alexander-skarsgard-loves-to-dress-like-a-british-schoolboy\"><span>Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/span><\/a><span> will star in the 19th-century gothic horror <\/span><em><span>The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands <\/span><\/em><span>(fingers crossed for some wolfy red carpet looks).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, in the world of beauty, earlier this week <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.co.uk\/article\/wolf-cut-hair-trend-spring\"><em><span>Vogue <\/span><\/em><span>declared<\/span><\/a><span> that the wolf cut will be everywhere this spring, and transformational hair couture from designers such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69517\/1\/charlie-le-mindu-hair-couture-show-ss26-catwalk\"><span>Charlie Le Mindu<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69585\/1\/evanie-frausto-showpony-aw26-new-york-fashion-week\"><span>Evanie Frausto<\/span><\/a><span> has also become an unexpected trend. \u201cI think hair is such a personal material because it\u2019s our fur,\u201d Le Mindu told Dazed.\u00a0<\/span><span>We can even smell like werewolves now \u2013 late last year, DS &amp; Durga released a fragrance called \u2018Well Dressed Werewolf\u2019. Titled <em>Frostbite<\/em>, the show was part inspired by 80s figure skaters, and part inspired by the cult 80s horror movie, <\/span><em><span>An American Werewolf in London.<\/span><\/em><span> Models carried vintage ice skates while claws grew from the end of their fingernails and tufts of hair sprouted from their wrists. For some of us (me), it never really left our consciousness, but with the book\u2019s 20th anniversary last year, the viral \u201choa hoa hoa\u201d season <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@tyler_warwick\/video\/7280695092623543554?lang=en-GB\">trend<\/a>, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/kristen-stewart\"><span>Kristen Stewart<\/span><\/a><span> admitting that she\u2019d love to direct a reboot, it\u2019s an exciting time to be a Twihard. And don\u2019t think we\u2019ve forgotten the\u00a0<\/span><em><span>Midnight Sun<\/span><\/em><span> animated series due for release at some point this year, which will retell the <\/span><em><span>Twilight <\/span><\/em>story<em><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span>from Edward\u2019s perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While vampires have been the source of fashion inspiration for decades (see <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/alexander-mcqueen\"><span>Alexander McQueen\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> SS96 <em>The Hunger<\/em>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/jean-paul-gaultier\"><span>Jean Paul Gaultier<\/span><\/a><span>AW14, or more recently, the work of Transylvanian brand ABODI), their canine frenemies have never been quite as popular. Still, the iconography of werewolves \u2013 or at least wolves \u2013 has made some interesting appearances throughout fashion history. Of course, if anyone was going to send actual wolves (or large dogs) down the runway, it was Alexander McQueen, which is exactly what he did for his AW02 show. Less gothic was the 2024 film, <\/span><em><span>Nightbitch, <\/span><\/em><span>in which Amy Adams becomes convinced that she\u2019s turning into a dog at night, while later this year, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/66901\/1\/alexander-skarsgard-loves-to-dress-like-a-british-schoolboy\"><span>Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/span><\/a><span> will star in the 19th-century gothic horror <\/span><em><span>The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands <\/span><\/em><span>(fingers crossed for some wolfy red carpet looks).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, in the world of beauty, earlier this week <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.co.uk\/article\/wolf-cut-hair-trend-spring\"><em><span>Vogue <\/span><\/em><span>declared<\/span><\/a><span> that the wolf cut will be everywhere this spring, and transformational hair couture from designers such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69517\/1\/charlie-le-mindu-hair-couture-show-ss26-catwalk\"><span>Charlie Le Mindu<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69585\/1\/evanie-frausto-showpony-aw26-new-york-fashion-week\"><span>Evanie Frausto<\/span><\/a><span> has also become an unexpected trend. \u201cI think hair is such a personal material because it\u2019s our fur,\u201d Le Mindu told Dazed.\u00a0<\/span><span>We can even smell like werewolves now \u2013 late last year, DS &amp; Durga released a fragrance called \u2018Well Dressed Werewolf\u2019.
