is considered the more affordable and family-friendly alternative to nearby Powder Mountain and Snowbasin Resorts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Originally designed as an outdoor summer retreat on a 900-acre ranch, locals who had started using it to sled in the winter convinced the owner to install a t-bar.<\/strong> In 1968 Nordic Valley operated for the first time express lift was added bringing total skiable terrain to over 500 acres with a total vertical of 1,695 feet. There are 40 total runs consisting of 8 green, 12 blue, 15 black, and 5 double black.
