As the third model in Ferrari\u2019s Icona series, the Daytona SP3<\/a> was a wild, limited run, \u00a32m homage to the racing prototypes of the 1960s. And yet, despite the rarity and the bonkers price tag, German tuner Novitec clearly felt it wasn\u2019t quite right.<\/p>\n

So, say hello to an even more powerful SP3. Yep, rather than the standard 828bhp from the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, this one is making 856bhp thanks to a new, freer breathing exhaust system with optional gold-plating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Novitec says this little power bump means the Daytona is \u201ceven more lively and reacts more promptly still to gas pedal commands\u201d. Lively might be an understatement.<\/p>\n

Should sound fairly life-affirming too, because there are electronically controlled exhaust flaps that allow you to switch between all-out V12 wail and a \u201cdecidedly subtle\u201d noise when closed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thankfully the SP3\u2019s already dramatic styling has been left well alone, save for a new set of forged wheels from Vossen. They\u2019re 20in up front and 21in at the rear, by the way.<\/p>\n
