As part of a Valentine\u2019s Day gift to his wife, Jeff Tweedy covered Cameron Winter\u2019s \u201cLove Takes Miles\u201d over the weekend. The Wilco frontman said he chose to put his spin on the Heavy Metal<\/em> song because it seems \u201cvery true to me about how love kind of actually works.\u201d He elaborated further in his newsletter, writing, \u201cI think you can feel the immediate feeling of love over and over and over again. But the real love takes a lot of miles, a lot of time. That\u2019s the kind of love that makes ground harder under your feet and colors stronger.\u201d Listen to the cover at Tweedy\u2019s Substack.<\/p>\n

The short essay that accompanies the \u201cLove Takes Miles\u201d cover continues, with Tweedy writing, \u201cIt\u2019s a poignant song for such a young person to put out into the world. Tweedy is currently in the early stages of a months-long headlining tour. Once he finishes this European leg, he will head back to North America to play shows in all three countries, with support from Liam Kazar and Finom\u2019s Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart, before concluding with a special set at the annual Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
