JOHN&#8217;s &#8220;Right Place, Wrong Time&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[analyse_image type=&#8221;featured&#8221; src=&#8221;https:\/\/cdn-p.smehost.net\/sites\/7f9737f2506941499994d771a29ad47a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Down-NB-2025.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"zox-post-body left zoxrel zox100\">\n<div id=\"6477\"><\/div>\n<p>New Orleans heavy metal institution <strong>Down<\/strong> are back \u2014 this time with a groove-laden tribute to hometown hero <strong>Dr. John<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The band have unveiled a special cover of &#8220;Right Place, Wrong Time,&#8221; the funk-soaked classic originally released as the lead single from<strong> Dr. John<\/strong>&#8216;s 1973 album <em>In the Right Place<\/em>. The track went on to become the most popular single of his career and has since popped up everywhere from <em>Dazed and Confused<\/em> to <em>American Horror Story: Coven<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Down<\/strong>&#8216;s version arrives just in time for Mardi Gras, complete with an accompanying video shot last March by <strong>Mike Holderbeast<\/strong>. The clip doubles as a loving homage to <strong>Dr. John<\/strong>&#8216;s legendary appearances on <em>The Midnight Special<\/em>, the late-night musical variety show that aired from 1972 to 1981.<\/p>\n<p>Frontman <strong>Philip H. Anselmo<\/strong> explains the deep personal connection behind the track: &#8220;<strong>Dr. John<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8216;Right Place, Wrong Time&#8217; is probably one of the first songs I ever learned or knew of as a kid. We grew up in the French Quarter and <strong>Dr. John<\/strong>&#8216;s music was everywhere. Recording this song was something that I always wanted to do and I&#8217;m happy that I did it with <strong>Down<\/strong>. The video was an absolute blast to make. Even my mom is in it!
