Luxury fashion has always existed in juxtaposition with inequality and political unrest. When a show is done well, it can make a statement or, at the very least, provide escapism, but the industry also has a habit of pushing things under the rug. Law Roach styled Lauren Sanchez at Paris Fashion Week; meanwhile, her husband\u2019s company, Amazon, is powering ICE\u2019s deportation machine, which has resulted in the death of at least <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2026\/jan\/28\/deaths-ice-2026-\"><span>eight people so far this year<\/span><\/a><span>, including Keith Porter, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. America is in a state of mourning and distress \u2013 and Marc Jacobs\u2019 SS26 show on Monday (February 9) <\/span>met people where they\u2019re at.<\/p>\n<p><span>Titled \u2018Memory Loss\u2019, here\u2019s everything that went down at the SS26 show.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>EMPTY SPACE, BLACK WALLS<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Marc Jacobs took a break from the New York Public Library, where the brand showed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/66010\/1\/marc-jacobs-ss25-new-york-fashion-week-nyfw-alex-consani\"><span>two spring-summer collections in a row<\/span><\/a><span>, for \u2018Memory Loss\u2019 and brought everyone to the Park Avenue Armory. There, in the ginormous, empty space with black walls, models like Alex Consani walked closeby a single row of chairs, soundtracked by Bj\u00f6rk\u2019s \u201cJ\u00f3ga\u201d. Models wore pitch-black tights and leather hot pants or rigid, square skirts that felt almost like placeholder items, or clothing drawn by memory. <\/span><span>There were even multiple coats worn backwards. Other notable mentions include X-Girl in 1994, Prada\u2019s SS96 show and the Marc by Marc Jacobs show in 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>IT WAS ULTIMATELY ABOUT LOSS<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>The Marc Jacobs SS26 show was dedicated to Louie Chaban, who Jacobs once called a member of his \u201cfashion family\u201d. Luxury fashion has always existed in juxtaposition with inequality and political unrest. When a show is done well, it can make a statement or, at the very least, provide escapism, but the industry also has a habit of pushing things under the rug. Law Roach styled Lauren Sanchez at Paris Fashion Week; meanwhile, her husband\u2019s company, Amazon, is powering ICE\u2019s deportation machine, which has resulted in the death of at least <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2026\/jan\/28\/deaths-ice-2026-\"><span>eight people so far this year<\/span><\/a><span>, including Keith Porter, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. America is in a state of mourning and distress \u2013 and Marc Jacobs\u2019 SS26 show on Monday (February 9) <\/span>met people where they\u2019re at.<\/p>\n<p><span>Titled \u2018Memory Loss\u2019, here\u2019s everything that went down at the SS26 show.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>EMPTY SPACE, BLACK WALLS<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Marc Jacobs took a break from the New York Public Library, where the brand showed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/66010\/1\/marc-jacobs-ss25-new-york-fashion-week-nyfw-alex-consani\"><span>two spring-summer collections in a row<\/span><\/a><span>, for \u2018Memory Loss\u2019 and brought everyone to the Park Avenue Armory. There, in the ginormous, empty space with black walls, models like Alex Consani walked closeby a single row of chairs, soundtracked by Bj\u00f6rk\u2019s \u201cJ\u00f3ga\u201d. Models wore pitch-black tights and leather hot pants or rigid, square skirts that felt almost like placeholder items, or clothing drawn by memory. <\/span><span>There were even multiple coats worn backwards. Other notable mentions include X-Girl in 1994, Prada\u2019s SS96 show and the Marc by Marc Jacobs show in 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>IT WAS ULTIMATELY ABOUT LOSS<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>The Marc Jacobs SS26 show was dedicated to Louie Chaban, who Jacobs once called a member of his \u201cfashion family\u201d.
