We prepared all day as if it were a TT, so it was better to use this as a good test, and with a good result.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Belgian broadcasters <em>HLN<\/em> and <em>Sporza<\/em> both reported that Evenepoel had been fuming at the start line when he learned the TT bike was off the day\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019d been seen flexing a 64-tooth chain ring on his time trial machine and wanted to go fast.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old had clearly calmed down by the time he chalked up win no.4 of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a sport where we\u2019re allowed to make last-minute decisions, and we have to respect them,\u201d Evenepoel said at the finish.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder -mt-[30px] mb-[30px] flex min-h-[250px] w-full items-center justify-center\">\n<div class=\"w-full \">\n<div id=\"in-content-leaderboard-I2-P0-CMI0\" class=\"flex justify-center text-left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe have to be real sportsmen in our minds, and be ready for flexibility,\u201d he said. \u201cFor me it wasn\u2019t a big difference. There\u2019s a really strong wind. I took the initiative,\u201d Yves Lampaert told <em>HLN<\/em> before the start, explaining teams petitioned race organizers to adjust the stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemco didn\u2019t agree, but we reached that conclusion with several other teams.
