One week after President Trump recklessly escalated his threat to take over Greenland, Neil Young is gifting the country\u2019s residents free access to his entire music catalog. In a letter addressed to \u201cour Friends in Greenland,\u201d the recently-minted American citizen graciously offers Greenlanders a NeilYoungArchives.com subscription in the hope of easing \u201csome of the unwarranted stress\u2026you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government.\u201d<\/p>\n

Young has long been critical of President Trump and his allies. On January 23, Young doubled down on his decision to pull his music from Amazon\u2019s streaming service, due to owner Jeff Bezos\u2019 continued backing of Trump. \u201cThe president\u2019s international policies and his support of ICE make it impossible for me to ignore [Bezos\u2019] actions,\u201d Young wrote in a statement. \u201cIf you feel as I do, I strongly recommend that you do not use Amazon. There are many ways to avoid Amazon and support individual Americans and American companies that supply the same products. I have done that with my music and people who are looking can find it in a lot of other places.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the Greenland letter, Young says he hopes his gift of free music will make other organizations \u201cfollow in the spirit of our example.\u201d Greenalnd residents can head to NeilYoungArchives.com\/Greenland<\/strong> to sign up.<\/p>\n
