The setup started on Saturday night, when Carpenter washed her hair with\u00a0Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>Conditioner. She followed those staples up with Redken’s new\u00a0<\/strong>Acidic Bonding Concentrate Hair Bandage Balm\u00a0<\/strong>to ensure her strands looked perfectly healthy on the the red carpet.\n<\/p>\n

      Then came real glamming time.\n<\/p>\n

      “I tousle the hair before I put it up. We do not want the hair looking too polished, but a little more unrestricted and free flowing. To tousle, use\u00a0Redken Root Lifter\u00a0Volumizing Spray\u00a0<\/strong>at the roots and\u00a0Redken Full Volume Mousse\u00a0through the mids and ends,” says the artist. “Then, do a rough blow-dry to lift and use a 1\u201d iron and put curls in alternating directions.\u00a0I saturate the curls with\u00a0Redken Max Hold Hairspray\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Redken Brushable Hairspray\u00a0lightly and brush it out. He went in with Redken Dry Texture Finishing Spray to get “that airy separation that looks expensive” and texture that “makes the whole cascade possible.” After spraying the finisher in, he combed with his fingers and “let the hair expand, giving it life.”\n<\/p>\n

      Next up, you’re going to gather the hair like you’re making a low ponytail.\n<\/p>\n

      “I lift it straight up the back of the head\u00a0and just hold it there.\u00a0That\u2019s the structure. Nothing else.\u00a0I take pieces and pin them into the head one by one. I let the ends fall over each other. I never tuck them in. I\u2019m stacking texture vertically so gravity gives me that cascade down the back. If I see a shape forming, I will pull it apart,” he explains. “After it\u2019s pinned, I go in with my fingers and gently pull pieces downward. Then I hit it again lightly with the\u00a0Redken Dry Texture Spray\u00a0to exaggerate separation and air.\u00a0This is what keeps it from looking bridal or too ‘done.'”\n<\/p>\n

                    “I tousle the hair before I put it up. We do not want the hair looking too polished, but a little more unrestricted and free flowing. To tousle, use\u00a0Redken Root Lifter\u00a0Volumizing Spray\u00a0<\/strong>at the roots and\u00a0Redken Full Volume Mousse\u00a0through the mids and ends,” says the artist. “Then, do a rough blow-dry to lift and use a 1\u201d iron and put curls in alternating directions.\u00a0I saturate the curls with\u00a0Redken Max Hold Hairspray\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Redken Brushable Hairspray\u00a0lightly and brush it out. This is key.\u00a0It will almost look too messy and that’s when I know it\u2019s ready.”\n<\/p>\n

He went in with Redken Dry Texture Finishing Spray to get “that airy separation that looks expensive” and texture that “makes the whole cascade possible.” After spraying the finisher in, he combed with his fingers and “let the hair expand, giving it life.”\n<\/p>\n

                    Next up, you’re going to gather the hair like you’re making a low ponytail.\n<\/p>\n

                    “I lift it straight up the back of the head\u00a0and just hold it there.\u00a0That\u2019s the structure. Nothing else.\u00a0I take pieces and pin them into the head one by one. I let the ends fall over each other. I never tuck them in. I\u2019m stacking texture vertically so gravity gives me that cascade down the back. If I see a shape forming, I will pull it apart,” he explains. “After it\u2019s pinned, I go in with my fingers and gently pull pieces downward. Then I hit it again lightly with the\u00a0Redken Dry Texture Spray\u00a0to exaggerate separation and air.\u00a0This is what keeps it from looking bridal or too ‘done.'”\n<\/p>\n
