Olivia Dean has won Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammys. She claimed the Big Four trophy over fellow nominees Leon Thomas, Addison Rae, Lola Young, Alex Warren, Katseye, the Mar\u00edas, and Sombr. She was propelled by her album, The Art of Loving.<\/em><\/p>\n

In her speech, she highlighted her background as a descendent of immigrants, urging for unity. \u201cI\u2019m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We\u2019re nothing without each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

The prize gave Dean her first-ever Grammy. Her fellow nominee Leon Thomas had made his solo Grammys arrival in style this year, notching up six nominations including another Big Four nod, in Album of the Year, for Mutt<\/em>. He is the only Best New Artist nominee to have a prior Grammy in the cabinet, too. That was for his contribution to SZA\u2019s 2024 Best R&B Song \u201cSnooze.\u201d Of the other nominees, Katseye and Lola Young had a nomination apiece in pop performance categories earlier tonight, and the Mar\u00edas were previously nominated for their contributions to Bad Bunny\u2019s 2023 Album of the Year contender Un Verano Sin Ti<\/em>.<\/p>\n
