Bad Bunny\u2019s Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos<\/em> has won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammys. The Puerto Rican artist beat out Justin Bieber\u2019s Swag<\/em>, Lady Gaga\u2019s Mayhem<\/em>, Kendrick Lamar\u2019s GNX,<\/em> Clipse\u2019s Let God Sort Em Out<\/em>, Leon Thomas\u2019 Mutt<\/em>, Sabrina Carpenter Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em>, and Tyler, the Creator\u2019s Chromakopia<\/em>. Harry Styles, who won the category in 2023, presented the award.<\/p>\n

The award clinches Bad Bunny\u2019s first win in the category, making him the first Latin artist in Grammys history to receive the honor. Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos<\/em> is also the first Spanish-language album to take home the prize. He won in a year of stiff competition from other Academy favorites, none of whom has ever clinched Album of the Year. Gaga and Kendrick each had four prior solo nods in the category (the latter\u2019s contributions to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Lemonade<\/em> and 2018\u2019s Black Panther: The Album<\/em> bring his total nominations in the category to seven). Bieber, meanwhile, had two prior nods and Carpenter and Bad Bunny had one apiece for their own records; Tyler, the Creator also had one nomination for his work on Frank Ocean\u2019s Channel Orange<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny delivered his acceptance speech primarily in Spanish. \u201cPuerto Rico, believe me when I say that we are so much bigger than 100 by 35 and there is nothing that exists that we can\u2019t accomplish,\u201d he said, per the Los Angeles Times<\/em>, referring to the country\u2019s approximate dimension in miles. \u201cThank God, thank you to the Academy, thank you to all the people who have believed in me throughout my whole career. To all the people who worked on this album. Thank you, mami, for giving birth to me in Puerto Rico. I love you. For all the people who have lost a loved one and even then have had to continue moving forward and continue with so much strength, this award is for you all.\u201d He added in English: \u201cI want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Beyonc\u00e9 claimed the Album of the Year trophy\u2014her first win in the category\u2014beating out Charli XCX\u2019s Brat<\/em> and Taylor Swift\u2019s The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> and extending her lead as the most decorated artist in Grammys history with 35 awards. Bad Bunny is not quite there yet: this is his sixth Grammy and first win in a Big Four category.<\/p>\n
