Captioned \u201cThe antidote to anxiety is action,\u201d the post followed the brand\u2019s earlier efforts to rally customers in raising $5,000 for schools in Minnesota, to which Dieux added an additional $10,000 in donations themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The brand, co-founded by Charlotte Palermino, Joyce de Lemos, and Marta Freedman (who has since left) in 2020, has become known for its science-backed skincare and sustainability awareness. This latest platforming reflects an ethos at the core of the company. As Palermino explains, <\/span><span>\u201cI am the daughter of an immigrant. Joyce is the daughter of immigrants. Our team comes from a multitude of backgrounds, and the last few weeks have felt like one horrifying event after the next.\u201d Her statement referenced a series of controversial federal immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota, including the fatal shooting of Minneapolis resident Alex Pretti by federal agents during an ICE-related operation \u2013 one of several deadly incidents that have sparked protests and debate over immigration policy and enforcement in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html-embed\">\n<p><span>Today (January 30), the Dieux team shut down its HQ in support of the national strike called in response to federal immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota. Noting that small businesses already pay significant federal taxes, Palermino said that this is not how they want their taxes spent: <em data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"810\">\u201c<\/em>We want to help communities, not terrorise them\u201d. The brand is hoping to help raise awareness and funds for organisations like DonorsChoose, Stand With Minnesota, and the Immigrant Law Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In doing this, Dieux has joined broader rallying efforts across the beauty and creative industries. Tattoo studios such as Tokki Tokki in Minneapolis and others out of state have hosted <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/beauty\/article\/69498\/1\/minneapolis-tattoo-studio-chinga-la-migra-tokki-tokki-anti-ice-tattoos\">anti-ICE tattoo flash days<\/a><\/span> and assembled care packages for affected communities, with proceeds and volunteer efforts aimed at supporting those impacted by enforcement operations. \u201cSo much in beauty conversation has been taboo \u2013 from discussions about race and body inclusivity to ageism \u2013 and nearly all of it ties back to politics,\u201d Palermino says. \u201cWe want to help remove the taboo around these subjects and use our platform to lift up vetted organisations that are on the ground doing the work. Captioned \u201cThe antidote to anxiety is action,\u201d the post followed the brand\u2019s earlier efforts to rally customers in raising $5,000 for schools in Minnesota, to which Dieux added an additional $10,000 in donations themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The brand, co-founded by Charlotte Palermino, Joyce de Lemos, and Marta Freedman (who has since left) in 2020, has become known for its science-backed skincare and sustainability awareness. This latest platforming reflects an ethos at the core of the company. As Palermino explains, <\/span><span>\u201cI am the daughter of an immigrant. Joyce is the daughter of immigrants. Our team comes from a multitude of backgrounds, and the last few weeks have felt like one horrifying event after the next.\u201d Her statement referenced a series of controversial federal immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota, including the fatal shooting of Minneapolis resident Alex Pretti by federal agents during an ICE-related operation \u2013 one of several deadly incidents that have sparked protests and debate over immigration policy and enforcement in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html-embed\">\n<p><span>Today (January 30), the Dieux team shut down its HQ in support of the national strike called in response to federal immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota.
