A lateral movement would have been more difficult. Now in Spain, the signs are increasingly encouraging. That means no cyclocross world championships in February but there\u2019s still hope he\u2019ll race Omloop at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>Despite wearing an ankle brace when he\u2019s walking earlier, the injury does not appear to impede his pedaling stroke too much. Photos and video clips shared on Instagram from Visma-Lease a Bike\u2019s camp show Van Aert apparently riding without any significant setbacks.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s been posting six-hour rides in Spain and the pain is steadily diminishing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can almost walk normally again,\u201d he said in the latest podcast interview. \u201cI can accelerate a bit out of the corners, so it\u2019s getting better.
