Kneecap have announced their next album. Fenian<\/em> arrives on April 24 via Heavenly Recordings, and features Kae Tempest, Ramallah-based rapper Fawzi, and Irish musician Radie Peat. A lead single that references British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, \u201cLiars Tale,\u201d is out now alongside a music video directed by Thomas James. You can watch it below.<\/p>\n

Fenian,<\/em> which Fontaines D.C. and Black Midi collaborator Dan Carey produced, follows the Irish rap trio\u2019s 2024 album Fine Art.<\/em> Since that release, the group\u2014who have long used their platform to advocate for Palestine and critique Israel\u2014have been banned from performing in Hungary and Canada, and were removed from a Scottish music festival over \u201cconcerns expressed by the police about safety.\u201d In May, member Mo Chara was charged with a terror offense for allegedly displaying the Hezbollah flag at a concert, leading the group to cancel a U.S. tour due to its proximity to his court date. Following the investigation launch, Kneecap said in a statement, \u201cLet us be unequivocal: we do not, and have never, supported Hamas or Hezbollah.\u201d Kneecap later addressed the charge, which was ultimately thrown out, in the November song \u201cNo Comment\u201d with the producer Sub Focus. Since releasing Fine Art<\/em>, the group has also shared the tracks \u201cSay\u014dnara\u201d with Orbital\u2019s Paul Hartnoll and \u201cThe Recap\u201d with Mozey.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Fenian<\/em>, Kneecap said, \u201cThey tried to stop us by branding Kneecap \u2018terrorists,\u2019 with cancellations, with statements from the Prime Minister himself. We had all the motivation we needed\u2026this isn\u2019t a swift reaction, but a considered response to those that tried to silence us. And failed.\u201d<\/p>\n
