The New Pornographers will release new album The Former Site Of<\/em> on March 27, via Merge. Watch the video for the single \u201cVotive,\u201d animated by Michael Arthur, below.<\/p>\n

The band that performs on the follow-up to Continue as a Guest<\/em> comprises A.C. Newman, Kathryn Calder, Neko Case, John Collins, and Todd Fancey. Charley Drayton joins on drums, replacing the disgraced former drummer Joe Seiders. Josh Wells will be behind the kit on the band\u2019s April-bound tour.<\/p>\n

Newman says in a press release, \u201cHaving time in my studio really opened things up. I don\u2019t like wasting my bandmates\u2019 time, and always felt guilty when I\u2019d give them a song, ask them to do something, then completely change the song and ask them to do it again. Now I can get the skeleton of a song together first\u2014just a couple of elements, the key feeling, really as little as possible\u2014before bringing it to the band and running from there.\u201d<\/p>\n
