The construction uses the same M40J Toray carbon fiber and just like the mountain bike the \u201cchainstays and seatstays have both been specifically shaped and reinforced to withstand the high torsional forces typical of aggressive\u201d mountain biking. No wait, it\u2019s actually meant to withstand \u201cgravel riding, steep off-road climbs and explosive accelerations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can also find the same distinctive bottom bracket triangle as the mountain bike. The Grevil MX uses the FOX 32 Float Step Cast Factory Kashima while the Dogma XC uses the Fox 32 Performance Elite SC. The two are the same other than the gold \u201cKashima\u201d coating. Fox reports that \u201cFOX 32MM forks will accept tire sizes up to 2.40 inches wide.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_975332\" class=\"pom-image-wrap photo-alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Pinarello Grevil MX\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2400\" height=\"1799\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-975332\" src=\"https:\/\/analyse.optim.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/p26_grevil_mx_h180_sram-xx_dtswiss_part8.jpg\" title=\"p26_grevil_mx_h180_sram-xx_dtswiss_part8\"><figcaption class=\"pom-caption\">(Photo: Pinarello)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At the rear of the bike, it\u2019s similar. There is no difference to the frame construction and PinkBike reports that \u201cmaximum tire clearance is 29 x 2.35 inches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever reason Pinarello has for claiming the bike is optimized for 50mm tires, and speccing Schwalbe G-One R Pro in 50mm front and rear, it\u2019s not about clearance. The chosen option is the MOST Talon Ultra Light that you can find on Pinarello road bikes. It means there\u2019s no need for new carbon molds but it may also introduce some issues.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_975330\" class=\"pom-image-wrap photo-alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2400\" height=\"1799\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-975330\" src=\"https:\/\/analyse.optim.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/p26_grevil_mx_h180_sram-xx_dtswiss_part6.jpg\" title=\"p26_grevil_mx_h180_sram-xx_dtswiss_part6\"><figcaption class=\"pom-caption\">(Photo: Pinarello)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Typically you\u2019d need an extreme negative stem that\u2019s oddly short to make a mountain bike work with a drop bar. The shortest stem that Pinarello offers on that bar is 90mm at -8\u00b0. That is going to leave quite a long reach on a rather upright bike. If you are serious about this bike, I recommend checking the fit.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The other change is gearing. Both the flat bar bike and the drop bar bike are running a full SRAM Transmission setup. While the flat bar gets the GX level, the Grevil MX is running a SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS rear derailleur, cassette, and chain. The cassette on both offers the same range but upfront the Grevil MX has a 38T aero chainring instead of the 32T you\u2019ll find on the mountain bike.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_975331\" class=\"pom-image-wrap photo-alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Pinarello Grevil MX\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2400\" height=\"1799\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-975331\" src=\"https:\/\/analyse.optim.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/p26_grevil_mx_h180_sram-xx_dtswiss_part7.jpg\" title=\"p26_grevil_mx_h180_sram-xx_dtswiss_part7\"><figcaption class=\"pom-caption\">(Photo: Pinarello)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Grevil MX is also running nicer wheels. While the mountain bike sticks to aluminum, the drop bar gets the DT Swiss XRC 1200 carbon fiber wheel. Obviously the tires are different as well with the already mentioned 50mm on the drop bar.<\/p>\n<p>In case you later change your mind, you can still swap the flat bar setup on. Nothing changes between the frames.
