    The basis of the brand was sparked by the founder’s love for healthy living. \u201cI was keeping an organic kitchen at home and learned that some of what we put onto our skin is absorbed into the body,\u201d explained Abbott Stark, the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Ogee. \u201cI wanted to harmonize the criteria I used for beauty products with those I used for food. I felt like it was a healthier decision, and I discovered that so many natural ingredients work better to improve the skin’s look. We created Ogee to be the end-all-be-all of effective and organic skincare and makeup.\u201d<\/p>\n

    From the brand’s inception, Stark recognized the complications within the clean beauty conversation and used it to his advantage. \u201cWe have started to use the term Beyond Clean Beauty to describe Ogee simply because we\u2019re all talking about clean, and that\u2019s so important in beauty right now,\u201d noted Stark. \u201cHowever, everyone has their definition, and we have yet to find one that imparts the stringency of our organic standard. We love that people think about the ingredients and their origins, so we want to support the clean beauty movement.     While Stark mentioned there is not just one clean standard that appropriately describes Ogee, the brand is NSF certified. \u201cOur NSF certification ensures we adhere to the most stringent standards in clean beauty, and this doesn\u2019t come easy. Each product (meaning each formulation, every individual shade) must be certified to this organic standard (formulas are required to have a minimum 70% organic ingredients), and it\u2019s not always easy to obtain,” explains Stark. “Sometimes, it means pushing a launch back just to ensure the utmost level of organic compliance in every single product we release. If it\u2019s not meeting the Ogee standard, it will not launch.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
