    For as long as I can remember, my eyelids have had a tendency to get very oily. Since I don\u2019t wear makeup every day, this isn’t a major concern until I want to create an eye look. Most of the time, I can use water-resistant mascara without experiencing any smudging or flaking, but when I want to wear eyeliner or eyeshadow, I always make sure to prep my eyelids with primer.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

    Right now, my favorite primer is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I put that over my entire eyelid, work it up to my brow, and sometimes, I\u2019ll sweep the primer under my eyes near my waterline. I find this helps maintain the integrity of any eye products I wear and extends the wearability of the formula.     Application for this eyeliner is fairly straightforward, but the brand shares a few tips to take your application to the next level. Since this product is a gel eyeliner, it gives you a few moments of playtime before it sets in place. You can apply this product in a couple of different ways.\n<\/p>\n

    One way to use this eyeliner is to create depth on the top of your lid or inside your waterline. Another way to use the pencil is to create a multitude of shapes and lines on your eyes because of how creamy and how well it glides onto the skin. Lastly, the brand encourages you to use the pencil\u2019s built-in smudge brush to try a smudged-out look. You can apply the pencil to the top of your lash line and near your waterline, and smudge it out with the brush before it sets.\n<\/p>\n

    The Results: A pigmented pencil that elevates my beauty routine <\/span><\/h2>\n

    I can fully admit that I haven\u2019t been loving my makeup routine these days. It\u2019s quite minimal and doesn\u2019t take much time, which is great, but it\u2019s fallen a little flat. Using an eyeliner like the Soulgazer to my routine is the new addition I\u2019ve been looking for. My look is more elevated and the pencil enhances my routine without complicating it.\n<\/p>\n

    Using Soulgazer was an easy process because of its formula and texture. The pencil is really creamy, which makes the application process a breeze. But once it sets, it stays in place and doesn\u2019t move. As you can see in the picture above, I\u2019m wearing the shade \u201cBewitch,\u201d a gorgeous deep violet shade with a satin finish that brings out the brown in my eyes. I tried this color both with primer and without to truly get a feel for the formula and how it held up against my oily eyelids. In the end, I found that I didn\u2019t need the primer\u2014Soulgazer has a waterproof formula that lives up to its promise. The pencil was truly waterproof, smudge-proof, and didn\u2019t disappear by the mid-afternoon each time I used it.\n<\/p>\n

    I found myself reaching for this pencil often because of how much fun I had experimenting with different liner shapes. I also played around with levels of intensity when it came to smudging my liner looks out with the product’s built-in smudge tool. Overall, using Soulgazer is the ideal pick me up and refresh my beauty routine. I can still create my everyday makeup look in 15 minutes or less, but my makeup is enhanced every time I use the product. I also never had to worry about whether or not the pencil was going to smudge or disappear, which only made me want to grab more shades of these eyeliners.\n<\/p>\n

    Priced at $24, the Soulgazer eyeliner is more expensive than a drugstore pencil, but I think it\u2019s on par with other prestige gel pencils on the market. With daily use, this pencil can last for a couple of months before needing to repurchase it. Plus, with a built-in sharpener and smudge tool, the Soulgazer pencil has additional value for the price.\n<\/p>\n
