They are rapping rapping<\/em> in Brooklyn right now. After a momentary spell in the Bronx, the hotspot of New York drill is once again BK. The trio of Kyle Richh, TaTa, and Jenn Carter are the reason why, having steamrolled onto the scene this year with a run of singles that merged high-adrenaline flows developed in the Bronx with a dire commitment to bars that might make you nostalgic for the city\u2019s aughts-era mixtape circuit. In May, the trio put out the posse cut \u201c41 Bop,\u201d where somehow their energy seems tame compared to that of the pint-sized flamethrower Miah Kenzo. In her \u201cOn the Radar\u201d freestyle, a right of passage for drill rappers in 2022, she sounds as if she could crush a cantaloupe with her fists. Yet despite the fiery nature of her delivery, it\u2019s smooth and controlled in a way that you won\u2019t find with the Bronx\u2019s most popular drill stars. If there\u2019s anything missing, it\u2019s with the lyrics\u2014you\u2019re not going to ooh<\/em> and ahh<\/em> at what she\u2019s saying, because it\u2019s more about how she says it. Regardless, we\u2019re due for a DJ to swoop in and go full Kay Slay by rounding up this new generation of Brooklyn drill rappers for a mixtape that crystallizes this moment.<\/p>\n
