    The amount of comfort I get from candy should quite frankly be psychoanalyzed. I pay attention to sugar-focused news and always know when a new treat has entered the market (there’s more innovation in the candy world than you’d think). And guess what?! I’m absolutely not alone.\n<\/p>\n

    We always talk about how Scandinavians are so happy and healthy, but did you know that Sweden is also the world’s number one candy consumer?     While the Swedes seem to have it all figured out, America is a little treat society; we can’t only live for Saturday. So, how about this: We could wear a candy-scented fragrance every<\/em>day<\/em> to tap into that sweetness? On June 3, Snif is launching Swede Tooth, the newest drop in the brand’s super popular and clever Secret Menu collection. And yes, it smells just like candy.\n<\/p>\n

    The Inspiration <\/span><\/h2>\n

    Gen Z is in their entry-level fragrance bag right now, and how much more accessible can you get than a candy scent? Pair that with the popularity of Swedish candy on TikTok, and the whole thing just makes so much sense.\n<\/p>\n

    “Swede Tooth is inspired by the Swedish candy we are all crazy for, and in development we tapped into that nostalgic, childlike rush of biting into a sour watermelon gummy,” Bryan Edwards, co-founder\u00a0and co-CEO of Snif, tells Byrdie. “Like all our Secret Menu fragrances, we blend experimentation with powerful scent memories, and in this case we created a scent that\u2019s bright, juicy, sugar-coated, and absolutely delicious. Swede Tooth captures both the familiar joy of a favorite childhood treat, and the fresh, fun, and ‘smellmaxxing’ energy that Gen Z has brought to today\u2019s fragrance scene.”<\/p>\n

    Edwards adds that fruity scents are always his go-to for summer\u2014 their “bright tartness” just feel right for the season.\n<\/p>\n

    “We combined that with the power of gourmand fragrances, which is a scent trend we know is here to stay. There\u2019s a mouthwatering quality that we bring to all of our food-like scents and that we\u2019re seeing everywhere right now,” he says. “Swede Tooth strikes a happy medium between the warm-weather craving for juicy and fresh, and the ongoing love for nostalgic, treat-inspired scents. It\u2019s fun, addictive, and totally on pulse with what fragrance lovers are gravitating toward this season.”<\/p>\n

    The Scent <\/span><\/h2>\n

    While we’re getting Swedish Fish (more on that in a minute), the candy that the scent was formatted after is actually a sour watermelon treat.\n<\/p>\n

    “Swede Tooth balances a bold and fruity sweetness with a truly wearable finish. The tangy raspberry and juicy watermelon notes are the star here, but what makes it really special is the way it dries down on your skin,” Edwards explains. “The violet brings this soft touch of floral, and the cedarwood and musk give it a smooth, familiar warmth that makes it not so overpoweringly sweet. It\u2019s candy-coated but elevated.\u00a0”\n<\/p>\n

    When formulating the scent, the Snif team started by smelling real Swedish candy, as well as some popular treats from the United States. Expert perfumers in both the US and Europe collaborated to bring the vision to life.\n<\/p>\n

    “We started with a gummy candy base, and in each smell session we built on top of that with complementary floral and wood notes to enhance the sweetness of the fruit,” adds the brand founder. “We went through over 20 modifications\u00a0before we found one that struck the right chord between edible and sophisticated. Swede tooth is\u00a0<\/em>an\u00a0<\/em>ode to the gourmand\/candy lover, but also wearable for anyone who also loves fresh fragrances.”<\/p>\n

    The Review <\/span><\/h2>\n

    “I usually hate gourmands (I know, I know), so I did not expect to like this. However, I love gummy candies, so I had to give this a try. It really smells like sticking your head into a bag of sour candies\u2014I’m getting a lot of Sour Patch Watermelon as well as some Swedish Fish. It’s so fun and juicy, and perfect for summer. It’s definitely sweet, but it’s not one-note, and the musks and floral notes develop nicely on the skin. It dries into something nice and soft, with hints of fruity sweetness rather than a straight candy bomb. I don’t think it will be replacing my go-to musk scent, but it will definitely be my new fave when I want to feel yummy and flirty, or be hit with some movie theater nostalgia.” \u2014Bella Cacciatore, senior news editor<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
