Revelstoke, BC, Looking For Artists to Paint Terrain Park Features

Some say skiing and snowboarding are art. Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia is taking that idea quite literally.

Revelstoke is currently looking for local artists to apply for its “Paint the Park” contest. Three selected artists will have the opportunity to turn a Revelstoke rail into a piece of art, painting it before it becomes part of the park for the upcoming season. Applicants must be Revelstoke residents, and artists of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to apply.

The application deadline is midnight on Sept. 8. Interested artists can apply on Revelstoke’s Website.

“We’re looking for local Revelstoke artists to help bring colour and creativity to the Revelstoke Mountain Resort Terrain Park,” Revelstoke wrote in its announcement.

Each winning artist will have their own rail to paint. Winners will be painting one of three rails: a c-rail, a donkey rail, and a three-panel rail. Applicants must create a design that could work across all the rail types.

The theme of the contest is, “what does Revelstoke mean to you?” Revelstoke allows artists to interpret the theme however they feel, whether it’s “mountains, community, adventure, history, nature, or something entirely personal.” The resort will select the winning artists based on their design and how it fits the Revelstoke theme.

In addition to having their artwork on display at one of Canada’s most famous resorts, the three winners will receive a 2026/27 Winter Season Pass. The artists’ names and social media handles will also be on the rails in case the art catches a rider’s eye.

The Paint the Park contest is an awesome way for the resort to connect with locals and give back to the community that gives the resort a tight-knit vibe. It helps support local artists by giving them a means to put their work on display for hundreds of skiers and snowboarders to see (and by giving the winners a free season pass). The contest also connects two different forms of creativity: painting and skiing/snowboarding. While art typically sits in a gallery to be looked at, Revelstoke’s skiers and snowboarders will be able to experience local art more actively. It can help put local artists on the map and bring some color to Revelstoke’s park while the skiers and snowboarders can admire the artwork while they do what they love.

To further add to the community feel, the three selected artists will paint their rails live on Oct. 10, 2026, at the base of Revelstoke Mountain Resort. 

“Guests, locals, friends, and family are invited to stop by throughout the day to watch the artwork come to life and meet the artists behind the designs,” Revelstoke writes. 

Paint the Park is a unique opportunity for artists as well as for Revelstoke skiers and snowboarders to support local art and the mountain community.
