POC is in!

The Swedish helmet maker has put a Fornix MIPS helmet and an Opsin goggle into the SnowBrains Trips giveaway, going to one winner as a set. At $390 it is the biggest single prize in the pool so far, and it brings us to five winners and more than $1,300 in gear, with the survey closing Friday, August 21.  POC is my current eyewear sponsor and the gear holds up.

  • Polycarbonate shell over an EPS liner
  • Aramid bridges running through the structure for strength and penetration protection
  • MIPS inside for rotational impact protection, which is the kind of hit you actually take when you catch an edge and go sideways
  • Adjustable vents with goggle chimneys to push steam out and keep your lenses clear
  • Removable ear pads for warm days
  • 360-degree fit system

The Opsin is the goggle built to live with it.

Helmet and goggle from the same brand means no gaper gap and no choking on your strap at the top of the run.

Why POC

Most gear companies start with performance and add safety later. POC started the other way around. The company was founded in Sweden with a stated mission to protect lives and reduce the consequences of accidents, and the products work backward from there.

After 20 years as a mountain guide, that is not a line I take lightly. A helmet is the one piece of gear where the difference between good and adequate only matters one time and it can mean everything.

What You Have to Do

Take the SnowBrains Trips survey. It takes about 2 minutes.

**TAKE THE SURVEY**

We are building hosted, small group ski trips for SnowBrains readers this winter, and we are not picking the destinations – you are. The survey asks where you want to go, when you can travel, and what kind of trip you actually want. Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Revelstoke, the Alps, South America, New Zealand. Tell us everything.

Everyone who completes the survey is entered to win.
