Jordan Brand’s ongoing revival of its early retro era continues this fall with the Air Jordan 8 “Black Chrome,” and a first look at retailer images have finally surfaced ahead of the September release.

A fan-favorite colorway that originally released in 2003. the Black/Chrome Jordan 8s are returning more than two decades removed from its debut. The sneaker arrives at a time when Jordan Brand has increasingly looked back to the early, middle, and late-2000s chapters of its retro catalog, bringing back many of the releases that helped define the brand’s formative years.

The “Black Chrome” is among the most memorable non-OG Air Jordan 8 colorways from that era; the design features a predominantly black upper accented by chrome detailing, and white/grey/black palette on the mudguards. These were a hit in 2003 as well as in late 2015 when it first returned as part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2015 line-up.

Jordan Brand is also paying tribute to the shoe’s original release through its packaging because the 2026 retro will arrive in the iconic silver/black “face” shoebox, a packaging style synonymous with the early years of Jordan retros. For longtime collectors as well as the new generation of Jumpman fans, the box itself serves as a reminder of a period when each release felt like a special event rather than another addition to an ever-growing calendar.
